We should work with HR to create greater transparency regarding salary ranges within employment bands 70% 53 53  70%70%

The AMC should adopt the Health Benefits Working Group recommendation as a resolution: "Benefits salary tiers should be regularly reviewed and adjusted for inflation." 61% 46 46  61%61%

The helping tools available to employees - askpeoplelink and askfinancelink - are not especially helpful. Can we talk to the directors of those groups about overhauling their programs? At a university this size, we desperately need a one stop shop for answers to HR and financial questions. But the responses from these groups tend to be disavowing responsibility or sending the user on a wild goose chase to various other departments. No tickets should be marked "resolved" until the group knows the user's question or problem has actually been solved 53% 40 40  53%53%

It would be great to discuss creating opportunities for administrators to work abroad at our global sites similar to how students can study and faculty can teach abroad for a semester or year. This would obviously involve many steps, but maybe the AMC can lead the research into creating these opportunities 43% 33 33  43%43%

The AMC should discuss recommending a proposal be drafted to the University Senate Academic Affairs Committee for Election Day to be added to the academic calendar as a University Holiday 37% 28 28  37%37%

Other companies offer a paid sabbatical as a perk for long term employees. (The example I know of is very generous: once you've been at the company 7 years, you get 3 paid months off.) Would NYU consider a version of this to encourage longevity? 20% 15 15  20%20%

The AMC should reduce its number of representatives, so it is one representative for every 40 administrators. This way there wont be so many vacancies in alternate rep spots, and we will be able to continue to fit into the Colloquium Room we usually meet in 16% 12 12  16%16%

We should ask university leadership to encourage division heads to embrace participation in the AMC and treat the volunteer efforts of individuals as a valued asset to the professional community 16% 12 12  16%16%

Propose that if two NYU employees together adopt OR have a child, they be allowed to BOTH take 6 weeks paid leave (if not in the same department) and not have to make the tough choice of which of the two employees get paid time off 12% 12%12%

The AMC should discuss with HR on the difficulty navigating the career site. There should be page navigation both top and bottom. Most importantly, one should be able to filter by band. The difficulty with the site discourages internal employees from seeking advancement opportunities 8% 8%8%

The AMC should lobby the City of New York to place a stop sign at the intersection of 8th & Mercer which contains a highly trafficked crosswalk used by both faculty, staff, and students 8% 8%8%

AMC should generate a semesterly email of Admin accomplishments, honors, awards, etc. similar to the faculty accomplishments iistings in various ways throughout the university 5% 5%5%

In solidarity with faculty and student efforts, the AMC should submit language to the administration signaling support of designating NYU as a sanctuary campus to protect our most vulnerable students, faculty, researchers, and administrators/staff 5% 5%5%

The AMC should propose that monthly employees be paid on the last day of the month rather than the first. If this is not possible every month, perhaps an exception could be made for the January 1st paycheck 5% 5%5%

Can the cost of AMC events like the art show and retirees' luncheon be disclosed to the membership? It would seem like recognizing retirees at the end of year AMC luncheon would save a lot of money 3% 3%3%

I want more information about class opportunities for administrators. If I want to take an art class (totally non-job-related), what are my options? If I want to take a random literature course, what are my options? Do I have to enroll in a degree, or can I just take a fun class here or there for some kind of discount? 3% 3%3%

NYU systems should recognize NYU employees and provide us better alerts (eg. Were you reminded to fill out the insurance waiver for your child? To later (after you paid) to be hit with Student Health Insurance and then a penalty for not paying on time) 3% 3%3%

The AMC should discuss organizing and offsetting the cost of chartering a bus to bring interested administrators to Washington D.C. for the inauguration in January 3% 3%3%

The AMC should consider changing the meeting times of the monthly general meetings. Given the traditionally large turnout at the year-end AMC Luncheon, perhaps one or two lunchtime meetings should be considered (and make them brownbags to cut down on catering costs) 1% 1%1%

When Katrina hit 12 years ago there were leaves of absence granted to administrators who wanted to go down and work with an approved group to aid in the recovery. can we advocate for doing this now to assist with Harvey and Irma devastation? No votes --
