The Law Society must help its members to address the challenges which confront the profession.

I have practised for over 35 years, both as an employee of and a partner in Ashurst (and its predecessor firm Blake Dawson). Over that time, I have witnessed widespread changes to the practice of law, brought on by technology and by globalisation.

I seek election to Council to help the solicitors of this State to navigate the challenges which lie ahead. I am well-placed to do so, having performed expertise roles, both within my firm (as a knowledge partner) and for the Law Society (as an examiner for the Specialist Accreditation programme). I am also a solicitor member of the Legal Profession Admission Board and am involved in the review of both pre and post-admission skills training.
