I believe student representation is more than merely responding to problems. It must pro-actively mould a better university experience. And so I stand for the SRC President. My vast leadership experience has taught me how to transform ideas into initiatives, cultivate partnerships and represent diverse communities. As Founder President of the Interact Club of Happiness, I grew an organisation from 10 to 70+ members, built partnerships with 16 international organisations and spearheaded initiatives reaching over 1,500 underprivileged students worldwide. I also directly represented UNSW students as a COMM1180 Student Partner working with academic staff to contribute towards course improvements by analysing student feedback. We pioneered LGBTQ awareness in our town through campaigns by inviting drag queens to share their experience. As SRC President, I bring initiative, accountability and inclusivity to student representation at UNSW. I would ensure students are not merely consulted, but meaningfully represented in our community.

I am an anti-colonialist, anti-racist, feminist, and unionist advocate. I have an unwavering faith in a better world, and a deep politics of care for all those around me. As a councillor on the UNSW SRC this year, I have learned how the corporate university fails to be an educational and social institute.

This is symptomatic of the broader cost of living crisis, the inflation of housing and rent prices, reliance on AI, Labor complicity in Isra*l’s genocide of Palestinians, and the general shift to the right.

I will fight for you through:
1. A moratorium on UNSW’s partnership with OpenAI
2. Affordable student housing on campus
3. Enforcing BDS on campus to cut ties with companies funding genocide in Palestine
(and more!)

Hey! I’m Daniel, and I’m running to be your 2027 SRC President with TOGETHER. I’m a third year Computer Science and Physics student and have served as an SRC councillor for two years.

When real students have a voice on the SRC, it has so much power to do good. Food Hub, Short Extensions, and even Flex Week all came about from our advocacy.

As your SRC President, I will focus on delivering tangible change like
1. Expanding our $5 meal program
2. Introducing vouchers for public transport and textbooks
3. Extending happy hour at the Roundy
4. Making ALL assignments capped at 40% weight and due at 11.59pm

Everyone deserves to be listened to, be represented, and fought for. TOGETHER is the only team who can do that for students at UNSW.

Let’s make a difference, together.

As the disabilities officer this year I’ve felt firsthand how the university’s structures are failing us. I’ve helped students fight academic appeal cases they shouldn’t have had to if the right support and care existed. I’ve helped advocate for students when they were shamed by course convenors for needing basic provisions, and I’ve felt this all firsthand having won my own academic appeal case after having no support from the uni.

Universities can’t be run like corporations anymore. As general secretary I’ll fight for:

1) Arc funded social workers on campus to help with the mental health crisis we’re facing!
2) A moratorium on AI to pause the need for profit and fund/resource our academics properly instead
3) Continuing to fight for ending our university’s ties to weapons companies And more!

G’day! I’m Luke and I’m running to be your next SRC General Secretary. As a fifth-year Arts/Law student who lives on campus and juggles work and study, I know that uni can be expensive and stressful. Student money has been wasted on a poorly-run SRC that refuses to focus on delivering immediate relief for students.

As your SRC General Secretary, I will fight for reforms to make our time at uni better like capping final exam weights at 40%, short extensions for all courses, expanding concession Opal card eligibility to international and part-time students, more affordable parking on campus, and cheaper student accommodation, while making the SRC more transparent and accountable.

I want to be part of an SRC that brings all students TOGETHER to make our university fun, fair, and student-focused.

Kensington Fried Chicken exists to fix the saddest part of campus life, which is lunch. Fourteen-dollar salads, queues that move slower than a week-three lecture, and portions plated by minimalists who've clearly never met a hungry uni student. We think campus deserves better than that, and our vision is simple: crispy, affordable, fast. Our secret blend of 11 policies is mostly herbs, spices, and common sense. Microwaves that actually heat your food instead of just spinning it in a slow circle of false hope. Seats and shade, so you and your mates can actually sit down and feast. And when Week Ten hunger hits, we've got chaplaincy for it: chips. Spiritual and dietary needs, both covered. So vote 1 Kensington Fried Chicken. Bring your mates, bring your appetite, and leave the sad desk sandwich behind. Our original recipe is simple, cheaper, tastier and faster. The rest is just gravy.

I believe effective student representation is not merely about organisation. It is about ensuring ideas, concerns and diverse voices are transformed into action. And so I stand for General Secretary. My leadership experience has taught me how to manage teams, cultivate partnerships and turn initiatives into tangible outcomes. As Founder President of the Interact Club of Happiness, I expanded an organisation from 10 to 70+ members and established partnerships with 16 international clubs across multiple countries. I have also organised large-scale workshops, cultural exchanges, fundraising campaigns and community initiatives, requiring careful planning and communication. As a COMM1180 Student Partner, I work directly with academic staff, analysing student feedback and contributing towards course improvements. I have represented students in school governance, including the selection of a High School Principal and an IB re-evaluation process. As General Secretary, I would bring organisation, transparency and accountability to SRC operations.

I am excited to be running to be your Education Officer as I've seen the impacts, both positive and negative, that student leaders can have for their fellow students, so I am keen to join a team that is committed to improving the student experience.

As your Education Officer, I will work diligently to improve the academic experience for all students through good communications and problem solving.

Specifically, I will establish a serious ACADEMIC CASEWORKER PROGRAM to make sure students are supported when navigating university and faculty issues. I will also fight for all assignments to be DUE AT 11.59PM and WEIGH NO MORE THAN 40% of your course grade!

Hey, I'm Emma and I'm running with Left Action for SRC for the Education Office.

Over the past few years i have fought tirelessly to have our universities stop tying our education to the genocide in Gaza by handing over our fees and research to weapons companies that arm the genocide. This year I helped organise the national student rally to oppose the racist scapegoating and blatant sexist politics of One Nation.

Throughout my time as an activist and member of the SRC, I have spoken to and worked with many students to fight around the issues they care about, such as the cost-of-living, free education and standing up against racism, sexism and homophobia.

Left Action is the only ticket with dedicated activists who are willing to relentlessly fight for a world without inequality and oppression. Join our fight and Vote [1] Left Action this SRC election!

I believe education is not merely about what happens inside a classroom. It is about ensuring students are heard, supported and given the opportunity to learn effectively. And so I stand for Education Officer. As a COMM1180 Student Partner, I work directly with academic staff, analysing student feedback and contributing towards course improvements. My leadership has also centred on creating educational opportunities, from founding a Model Lok Sabha to organising economics and financial literacy workshops reaching over 1,500 participants. I have also developed mentorship initiatives supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. My academic interests in economics, public policy and governance have further shaped how I approach educational issues. These experiences taught me that meaningful educational change requires both listening and action. As Education Officer, I would advocate for accessible, responsive and high-quality education while ensuring students have meaningful channels to shape their academic experience.

Poll: Welfare Officer
Vedika Pal

Image for Vedika Pal
I believe student welfare is not merely about responding when someone reaches crisis point. It is about building a community where students feel comfortable seeking support before they get there. And so I stand for Welfare Officer. I founded a mentorship initiative supporting the education and wellbeing of 50+ orphan girls and have organised community initiatives focused on inclusion and social awareness. My advocacy has also extended to issues that can be difficult to discuss. I organised menstrual hygiene awareness campaigns and pioneered LGBTQ+ awareness initiatives during COVID, creating spaces for conversations often surrounded by stigma. These experiences taught me the importance of empathy, accessibility and making people feel heard without judgement. As Welfare Officer, I would strengthen awareness of existing support services while creating more opportunities for connection, early intervention and community-building. I would bring practical leadership experience and a genuine commitment to ensuring students feel supported, respected and included at UNSW.

Hey! I’m Alyssa, a first-year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student running to be your Welfare Officer.

If elected, I will work to improve student welfare and make the SRC's work more visible and accessible to students. I’ve seen the impact of student-led initiatives through my role as Deputy Charities at Philip Baxter College.

Personally, moving away from home to start university was a major change, and I understand how academic pressure, financial stress and a new environment can affect a student’s university experience.

As your Welfare Officer, I will introduce PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND TEXTBOOK VOUCHERS, fight for FREE PARKING DURING EXAMS, push for CHEAPER DRINKS at the ROUNDHOUSE and bring back FREE UNI MERCH!

Hi! I’m Jamie, and I’m running to be your SRC Welfare Officer for 2027. Students in Australia are in a cost-of-living crisis. Housing is unaffordable, groceries have shot up and fuel and transport costs continue to soar. I’m a socialist, because I think capitalism continues to fail ordinary people while concentrating wealth in the hands of the 1%.

Our vice-chancellor earns $1.18 billion while making us pay tens of thousands for our degrees. We need a radical SRC that looks to turn the tide in favour of students. Left Action are a ticket of activists, who want to fight for students on every front. That’s why this year I’ve helped organise two mass student walk-offs against Pauline Hanson. The far-right want to strip back the rights of everyone and we need an equally organised response. If you want an SRC that stands for this, vote 1 Left Action!

I’m a first year Social Science student majoring in Politics and International Relations. This year I’ve taken an active role in the Women’s Collective and feminist movements including the SSASV (Students Stand Against Sexual Violence) march to parliament. Alongside the creation of a feminist union on campus, I am developing a non-profit food organisation that aids the most vulnerable in Sydney. The rise in gender based violence highlights the need for an activist Women’s Collective.
I’m running for Women’s Officer because I will turn that activism into a meaningful change on campus.
As Women's Officer my priorities will always be founded on the needs of the people! Which is why I’m fighting for:
1. An expansion on subsidies for contraception, reproductive, and menstrual healthcare.
2. An establishment of an annual International Feminist Solidarity Week.
3. An expansion of the Period Campaign.

I am Anita Trairattanasirikul, and I want to build on UNSW’s supportive environment to encourage students to get involved in societies, performing arts, and university life. Since O-Week, I have experienced how interactive students can make others feel like they belong, and I would like to extend that same positive attitude to everyone I meet.
As Women’s Officer, I would prioritise voicing women’s concerns and encouraging them to partake in events both on and off campus, as I believe building strong relationships with others can significantly impact a woman’s feeling of safety and inclusivity.
Being involved in multiple volunteering initiatives at UNSW including Arc Insiders, Wellness Warriors, Volunteers United and Blitz, I would continue to be an approachable and visibly active individual in the community, who listens to what women at UNSW actually need, and turn that feedback into practical events and initiatives.

“Every Woman Heard. Every Woman Supported.”

As the first woman in my immediate family to pursue higher education, I understand what it means to navigate barriers in spaces where women are still underrepresented. That experience fuels my commitment to ensuring every woman at UNSW, including international students, has the support, resources and confidence to thrive.

As your Women’s Officer, I will STRENGTHEN the Women’s Collective and RAISE AWARENESS of women’s health, mental health and safety resources, and HELP SURVIVORS OF GENDERED VIOLENCE access confidential support. Further, I will work with UNSW to advocate for the Gender Equity Strategy and liaise with NUS and campus partners to work towards tearing down systemic barriers.

I believe women’s representation is not merely about creating supportive spaces. It is about creating opportunities for women to participate, lead and be heard. And so I stand for Women’s Officer. My leadership has consistently centred on advocacy, inclusion and building opportunities from the ground up. I founded my school’s first structured girls’ football program, leading a 20-player squad into district-level competition. I also founded a mentorship initiative supporting the education and wellbeing of 50+ orphan girls. My advocacy extends beyond traditional leadership. During COVID, I pioneered LGBTQ+ awareness initiatives to encourage social dialogue and challenge stigma, while also leading menstrual hygiene awareness and civic education campaigns. Real change is difficult, but it is necessary. As Environment Officer, I will Back the Environment Collective so more students can get involved in ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY, introduce GREEN GRANTS FOR ECO-FRIENDLY CLUB EVENTS, SUPPORT WORKSHOPS that give students practical skills for environment and climate action, and HOLD OUR UNIVERSITY ACCOUNTABLE on its commitment to Net Zero emissions, including scrutinising its supply chain!

I believe environmental action is not merely about raising awareness. It is about making sustainable choices practical, visible and accessible to students. And so I stand for Environment Officer. As Founder of my school’s Fashion Club, I built a 30-member organisation connecting sustainability with textile waste, responsible production, ethical consumption and sustainable supply chains. I also led Project Green Yatra, mobilising volunteers to plant 100 saplings as part of an urban sustainability initiative. My interest in economics and business has further shaped how I understand environmental issues, particularly the relationship between consumption, incentives and sustainable decision-making. These experiences taught me that environmental initiatives are most effective when people have a tangible role in them. As Environment Officer, I would focus on practical, student-driven initiatives while bringing an interdisciplinary perspective that connects sustainability with economics, business and everyday choices.
Sebastian Koelsch (Left Action)

Hey! I’m running with Left Action to be your Environment Officer in 2027. The need for bold action on climate change has never been greater than it is now. We are hurtling towards a world of multiple degrees of warming and the destruction of entire ecosystems.

The impending climate catastrophe is fuelled by one thing only: the endless greed of fossil fuel barons and AI techbros for profit. That’s why I’m a socialist, because I think capitalism is failing us and the planet, and we need a world based on rational and just allocation of resources. That’s also why I was a part of the ‘Fossil Free UNSW’ campaign last year.

Left Action are organising against all the injustices of capitalism, from inequality and racism in Australia to the Gaza genocide. If you want an SRC that stands for students’ rights and progressive change, vote 1 Left Action.

I’m running for International Officer because I want to listen and understand the issues affecting us, while turning those concerns into meaningful advocacy. Too often, international students are made a political football and blamed for Government and University failures. We can’t accept that.
As International Officer, I’ll fight for:

This year I've been lucky enough, with my involvement with disability advocacy spaces and the Disability Inclusion and Accessibility Society, to become deeply familiar with the vibrant disabled community in UNSW and beyond. Through these experiences, I've come to a fairly obvious conclusion: it is *not* a good time to be disabled right now.

But that means we have to maintain community and solidarity, through transparent leadership targeting external stressors from UNSW and the government. That's what I'd like to offer, through continued activism as well as policies including:
1. A reduced cap on assessment weighting (60% → 40%)
2. More bulk-billed psychiatrists at the UNSW Health Service (and expanding to cover ADHD care)
3. Restoring good academic standing after students at risk level 3 take program leave or successfully appeal suspension
4. Advocating for Arc-funded social workers

Hi! My Name is Olivia Wallace, and I am running to be your next SRC Indigenous Officer. I am a second-year student studying a Bachelor of Biotechnology and am passionate about advocating for everyone's right to opportunity, learning, and the ability to contribute back to their community. I have spoken to fellow Indigenous students in my time studying here, and there is currently a barrier between our Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander population and our non-Indigenous population; this deserves attention. Direct dialogue rather than blanket solutions is the difference between community initiative that works, hinders, or is redundant and wasteful. Indigenous issues do not solely affect Indigenous people but our collective university community. This will be my first year running; however, I believe we have the unique opportunity in the SRC to engage critically together and improve standards for everyone.

I’m Avasa, and I’m proud to be running with Left Action for the SRC Ethnocultural Office.

With One Nation polling around 30 percent, Pauline Hanson has painted a fascist and more unequal vision for society. Her agenda is trying to normalise racism, blaming migrants and international students for the problems her billionaire backers cause. We need an anti-fascist and anti-racist fight back in our student union. This requires a left-wing activist, like me, in the Ethnocultural office.

This year I helped organise the historic National Days of Action against Hanson, where over 14,000 students across the country protested her. I've also been a part of organising Palestine protests both on and off campus.

Hi, I'm Jules Lonchampt, and I'm a first year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student.

Outside of the classroom, I'm someone who's highly interested in politics, loves hiking, and has a deep passion for aerospace and music. I see proper representation of students in our leadership as crucial to improving everyone's experience at UNSW, so I'm running for Councillor to listen to students and deliver real change and opportunities for all.

This year, I've been active in several Arc Clubs, something I regard as a key part of the student experience, and which alongside my committee position in UNSW Labor, has given me the skills that I am confident will make me a strong representative for students who want a better UNSW.

I worked for 4 years at the airport, and honestly, university lunch prices make the airport prices seem reasonable.

That’s why Kensington Fried Chicken exists. To fix the saddest part of campus life: lunch.

Fourteen dollar salads, queues that move like week three lectures, portions designed by minimalists.

We have a simpler vision: crispy, affordable, fast.

Our secret blend of 11 policies and programs will season - with common sense - buckets of value of students, not buckets of buzzwords.

Microwaves that actually heat.

Seats and shade so friends can feast. With all that open space and trees, I THINK there’s room for more benches!

Enough chips to survive Week Ten.

If a meal costs more than your tutorial, we will make noise about it.

Vote 1 Kensington Fried Chicken! Tell your mates and your appetite to leave those sad sandwiches behind.

Cheaper. Tastier. Faster. That’s our Original Recipe.

Hey everyone! My name is Dunja Radulovic, a first year Law and Politics, Philosophy and Economics student and I’m really excited to be running for Councillor on the Together ticket.

Since starting at UNSW, I’ve got involved in different parts of uni life, between clubs and volunteering. I’ve met so many different people and realised how different everyone’s experience of uni can be.

At such a big university, students can be disconnected from the big decisions that affect us. That’s the reason why I want to run. I want to be someone who listens to what students are actually saying and fight for better outcomes. I think student representation should be approachable and genuinely connected to students and I’d love to help make more people feel like they have a say in what happens at UNSW.

Hi everyone, I’m Jonah (he/him) and I’m running for the 2027 UNSW SRC with TOGETHER this year!

I’m a first-year Commerce student and am also a resident at UNSW Hall.

Students are some of the most vulnerable groups in Australia, with many having to undertake full time work and full time study on top of trying to manage living on their own for the first time. I believe that the SRC should be doing more to fight for these students' needs, by lowering mental and financial stress of everyday student life.

Some of the great things that TOGETHER will help deliver include:
- A maximum final exam weight of 40%
- Digital student ID cards
- Rent caps below inflation for student accommodation

Hey! I’m Alyssa, a first-year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student from the Illawarra.

Personally, moving away from home to start university was a major change, and I understand how academic pressure, financial stress and a new environment can affect a student’s university experience.

If elected, I will advocate for the improvement of student welfare and make the SRC's work more visible and accessible to students. I will push for much-needed changes like capping final exams to 40% weighting and bringing back free uni merch — because too many of us missed out on the free hoodies!

Hi, I'm Will! I'm a second-year Actuarial Studies and Commerce student, so yes, I spend a lot of time with numbers, but my favourite part of Uni has always been the people. Moving down from Newcastle, I know how much finding your crowd matters. Now I'm a social director, and nothing beats watching a room of strangers leave as mates.

I'm running because I want every student to feel like they belong here and that someone's in their corner, whether they've just moved to Sydney or are juggling work and study. That means listening first, being easy to find, and taking what you tell me to the people who can actually change things.

Uni should be somewhere you can afford to show up, and want to stay.

In a cost-of-living crisis, uni students shouldn’t be having to fork out more money for textbooks and resources. In a climate crisis, our uni shouldn’t be partnering with fossil fuel companies destroying the planet and First Nations country. During a genocide, our uni fees shouldn’t go towards complicit companies and institutions.

I am a first year Media/Arts student, majoring in journalism & politics and IR. I minor in gender studies and am a staunch intersectional feminist! UNSW partnerships are consistently aligning with industry partners that perpetuate war crimes and technological prejudice against women. Simultaneously, they employ performative pro-women initiatives to create the illusion that these partnerships are generating positive opportunities for women, while simultaneously undermining women’s rights internationally.

I am passionate on developing policy around:
- Stopping the commercialisation of our research being used to assist misogynistic corporations.
- Organising accessible resources for UNSW students to take action against the femicide crisis in Australia.
- Fighting against funding cuts to Arts programs, and focusing on promoting more study support, opportunities and guidance for students undertaking gender studies specifically.

The university makes amounts of money that most of us can’t even conceptualise, and yet we are forced to pay for out of pocket mandatory resources while we are already struggling to get by day to day.

On top of that, the university is prioritising partnerships with weapons companies over making student lives and education up to the standard we deserve.

Heya! My name’s Julia and I’m running with Left Action in this year’s SRC election because now more than ever we need a student union that will fight for us.

While students are facing a worsening cost of living crisis, UNSW made $422 million in profits last year ripping us off! Instead of making education, housing and food free and accessible for all students, they’ve used this money to partner with criminal AI and weapons companies complicit in three years of genocide in Gaza.

Students deserve better, but we have to fight for it. We need an activist SRC that mobilises students around the issues they care about on and off campus. That’s why this year I’ve organised protests for Palestine, to kick weapons off campus and against Pauline Hanson’s racism.

So vote [1] Left Action for an SRC that fights for you all year round.
Kitty Fitzpatrick

Image for Kitty Fitzpatrick
Hiya! I’m Kitty, and I’m running for the SRC with Left Action because I want it to continue to be an activist body that fights against the far right and for Palestine.

I’ve spent the last year campaigning and protesting for a number of left-wing issues young people care about. This includes the National Days of Action against Hanson, which saw thousands of university and high school students taking a stand against her and One Nation’s racism. I helped organise the Weapons Off Campus campaign, demanding UNSW cut its ties with the weapons companies arming Israel.

Left Action is fighting for free education for domestic and international students, as well as reducing rent and grocery costs amidst the cost-of-living crisis. Oppose the far right, free Palestine, vote 1 Left Action!
Anthony Shin

Image for Anthony Shin
Hey, Im Anthony and I’m running for the SRC this year with Left Action!

I believe students should have a say in what happens in our universities. The way the cost-of-living crisis has affected student living and the way universities have racked up student fees is antagonistic to student interest. Students should have a say in opposing our university in having ties with fossil fuels and weapons companies. This is why I am running for SRC.

I am currently a part of the anti Hanson campaign resisting her racist agenda with One Nation. I am also a Palestine Activist and helped organise protests like the March for Humanity over the Harbour Bridge.

If you believe in what we have to say you should definitely vote for us in the upcoming student elections.
Theodore Gill

Hi I’m Theodore, I’m running with Left Action because UNSW runs like a corporation, making millions in profit while students suffer through a cost-of-living crisis and investing student fees into weapons companies complicit in genocide. I believe the SRC should be an activist body that fights for better. I first got involved in activism as part of the weapons off campus campaign. Since then, I have been part of the pro-Palestine movement and the anti-Hanson campaigns. If elected, I’d push for the SRC to be an activist body and continue to fight for students, for Palestine and against the far right.

I believe the src should be run by people who genuinely care about advancing student’s issues and not as a way to advance a political career. If elected I would use my position to advocate for the university divesting from weapons companies that are involved with the genocide in Gaza, and for more amenities for students in the midst of the cost of living crisis

I am Anita Trairattanasirikul, and as a Commerce/Arts student, I would love to represent the students across Arts, Design and Architecture, as well as the Business School, ensuring all student voices are heard and every individual feels supported and included within their faculty and at UNSW.
Ever since I started at UNSW, I have become significantly involved in student life through societies, events, and volunteering initiatives including Arc Insiders, Wellness Warriors, Volunteers United and Blitz. These experiences have taught me that different students have different experiences depending on their interests, degree, and commitments, so as Councillor A, I would focus on listening to students’ concerns, encouraging them to get involved in the many events across UNSW, and support them by being an approachable and enthusiastic individual.
Vedika Pal

I believe student representation is not merely about having a seat at the table. It is about ensuring students’ concerns are heard and translated into constructive action. And so I stand for Councillor A. As a Business School undergraduate, I bring an analytical perspective grounded in economics, policy and strategy, alongside experience representing and organising diverse student communities. As Founder President of the Interact Club of Happiness, I grew an organisation from 10 to 70+ members and established partnerships with 16 international clubs. At UNSW, my role as a COMM1180 Student Partner has further developed my understanding of representation, requiring me to gather, analyse and communicate student feedback directly to academic staff. I have also led initiatives across welfare, sustainability, LGBTQ+ awareness, women’s participation, civic engagement and international collaboration. These experiences taught me the importance of listening across different perspectives. As Councillor, I would bring openness, evidence and accountability to Council.

Hey, I’m Aaizah and I’m running with Left Action!

For UNSW 65,000 Palestinians dead is the cost of doing business. It invests up to $3M in weapons companies and I refuse to be made complicit in genocide. That money should be put into social good instead of war and destruction.

That's why it's absolutely necessary to build an activist SRC that stands on the right side of history and holds our university accountable. That's why I'm running as part of Left Action.

I was part of the Palestine campaign in Pakistan where I helped organize protests and have carried that on here at UNSW. If elected, I’ll make sure that our SRC continues to fight for the issues students care about!

I’m Freddie, and I’m running with Left Action to represent UNSW students on the SRC. Years of climate inaction and the genocide in Gaza have made me a committed socialist activist. I’ve also joined counter-protests against the neo-Nazi-affiliated March for Australia events and helped build student strikes against One Nation. These important initiatives have thrown up opportunities for students to fight back against the attacks on migrants, workers and Palestinians.

I want to see an SRC that continues this good work along with a message of standing up against management to support cost of living measures. I want to see a free lunch canteen on campus, extend and make public transport free and fight for free university education. That’s why this SRC should be run by activists who mobilise ordinary students rather than student politicians from the establishment parties. Vote 1 Left Action!

I’m Jasmyn and I got involved in activism because I was radicalised by the movement for Palestine. This year I’m running for the SRC with Left Action!
I got involved in student activism through the pro-Palestine movement. And since the beginning of this year I have organised the Weapons Off Campus campaign; uncovering UNSW’s outrageous weapons ties linking the university directly to the genocide in Gaza.
I have also helped organise the recent student walk-outs against Pauline Hanson. We want to build a strong movement in society against Hanson’s and the far right's bigotry and give confidence to those the far right seeks to oppress and villainise. If you want a radical and anti-fascist SRC, vote 1 Left Action!

I am running for the SRC with Left Action this year to help build a fighting student union that seeks to mobilise students around issues both on and off campus. I believe that students play a vital role in building progressive social movements, something we have seen through the wide range of political campaigns taken up by students over the past few years. I have helped organise protests and student strikes that mobilised hundreds of students against the Gaza genocide. On top of this I have helped to build the National Days of Action against Pauline Hanson, once again dedicating time to bring out large numbers of students to actions such as these. For a left-wing activist SRC, vote 1 Left Action!
Ciaran Swords

Hey, I’m Ciaran! I’m gonna be running alongside the other activists on Left Action to keep the SRC as a body that supports left wing activism. I have been involved in many activist campaigns, primarily around Palestine solidarity and recently in opposition to Pauline Hanson. I’ve dedicated many hours to spreading the word about initiatives such as the Palestine national days of action, that continued to bring students out in opposition to the continuing genocide in Gaza despite both government and UNSW complicity. As well as the two recent student strikes against Pauline Hanson, that saw thousands of students across the country come out to stand with migrants and against racism. It is through action on the streets that change happens, and if elected I will use my position to further support and help organise such campaigns, which will only become more necessary as the far right grows in Australia.

Hi! I’m Salma Catanho and I’m studying a bachelor of mechatronics engineering and bachelor of science.

I want to be able to be a voice for the STEM students at UNSW. I’m a woman in engineering and I think it’s important to be able to bring certain elements into engineering that would assist women.

Having a STEM background will help bring a new perspective to the SRC and fight for things that will impact our day-to-day lives. For example putting free hygiene products in the Engineering building bathrooms, pushing for subsidised lab equipment and so much more.

TOGETHER, we can help STEM students thrive and do what they do best.

Hey! I’m Daniel, and I’m running to be an NUS Delegate with TOGETHER.

The National Union of Students (NUS) represents all university students in Australia. It has achieved massive wins like slashing our student debt and stronger gendered violence frameworks.

But there’s still more to do. As an NUS Delegate, I will fight for cheaper university degrees, concession Opals for international and part-time students, ending unpaid internships, and expanding paid prac placement to all courses. I will also push for the NUS to stop the exploitation of international students and stand against racism and xenophobia.

Together, we can make a real difference.

G’day! I’m Luke and I’m running to be your next SRC General Secretary. As a fifth-year Arts/Law student who lives on campus and juggles work and study, I know that uni can be expensive and stressful.

As a Delegate to the National Union of Students, I will back strong campaigns and policies to address our everyday concerns, like abolishing the Job Ready Graduates scheme to make university degrees cheaper.

Freddie Le Vay

Image for Freddie Le Vay
I’m Freddie, and I’m running with Left Action to represent UNSW students on the SRC. Years of climate inaction and the genocide in Gaza have made me a committed socialist activist. Over the past year, I’ve helped organise protests with Students for Palestine, including the Weapons Off Campus campaign and a rally targeting DroneShield and Boeing that called on UNSW to cut ties with genocide. I’ve also joined counter-protests against the neo-Nazi-affiliated March for Australia events and helped build student strikes against One Nation. I’m running because the SRC should help students build movements and fight for change, rather than get bogged down in bureaucracy. With students facing a cost of living crisis, genocide and the rise of the far right, we need an SRC that makes our voices heard. Vote for me and Left Action.
Anais Williamson

Hi! I'm Anais, and I'm running with Left Action to represent you as a National Union of Students delegate this year. The rise of the far-right in Australia is a major threat to our rights. We need a firm response to show this racist and sexist politics can't run with us. I've helped organise student walk-offs against Pauline Hanson recently and want to carry this energy into the National Union of Students. Vote 1 Left Action!
Aaizah Tahir

Hey, I’m Aaizah and I’m running with Left Action!

For UNSW 65,000 Palestinians dead is the cost of doing business. It invests up to $3M in weapons companies and I refuse to be made complicit in genocide. That money should be put into social good instead of war and destruction.

That's why it's absolutely necessary to build an activist SRC that stands on the right side of history and holds our university accountable. That's why I'm running as part of Left Action.

I was part of the Palestine campaign in Pakistan where I helped organize protests and have carried that on here at UNSW. I was part of organizing and building the UNSW Student General Meeting for Palestine last year, as well as the National Student Referendum this year. If elected, I’ll make sure that our SRC continues to fight for the issues students care about!
Kitty Fitzpatrick

Dash Baker

Last year I said the SRC shouldn't be a place to pad your CV. I've spent this year proving I meant it.

Organising at UNSW is often unglamorous: a stack of leaflets on Main Walkway and hundreds of conversations before one person agrees to come along. That's what built the Kick Weapons off Campus protest for Palestine in June, the first protest on campus this year, and the student strikes against Hanson in August and September. Months of postering and class announcements before anyone turned up.

Rent eats your pay before you've bought groceries, staff are underpaid, and Labor students on the SRC call that business as usual. It isn't, and it won't change by rolling over for management.

Last month I stood on a USyd picket line from early morning with staff who'd had enough. That's what wins.

I am an international PhD student in Computer Science at UNSW and a liaison officer in the Postgraduate Council. After studying in China and now in Australia, I know firsthand how hard it can be to settle into a new academic system and culture.
I volunteer as a Cultural Mentor at UNSW, helping new international students find their feet, and I have been selected for the City of Sydney’s International Student Ambassador and Leadership Program. As a Teaching Assistant, I learned how much listening matters when working with students from different backgrounds.
Many issues facing international students are decided at the national level, including visa rules, enrolment caps, work rights, and housing costs. As an NUS delegate, I will push for fair treatment of international students and make sure UNSW’s voice is heard.
I speak English, Urdu, Sindhi, Hindi and conversational Chinese, and I would be honoured to represent you.
