As a current Board Director of Arc @ UNSW College, I am seeking re-election to continue championing the student voice. As an international student myself, I understand the unique challenges we face, from settling into a new culture to navigating academic pressures.

Over the past year, I have actively fulfilled my fiduciary duties—critically analysing board proposals and ensuring organisational effectiveness. My concurrent roles as a Student Life Administration Officer, Mentor Peer Leader, and Exam Invigilator have given me a 360-degree view of the student experience. I see where policies succeed and where they fall short.

I bridge the gap between students and decision-makers. With experience ranging from the NSW Health International Student Advisory Committee to the Red Cross, I bring a professional, community-focused perspective to the board. I am committed to strengthening student representation, advocating for diverse needs, and creating lasting, positive change for all UNSW College students. Vote for experience. Vote for action.

As an international student, I understand the challenges students face in balancing academics, wellbeing, social life, finances, and day-to-day responsibilities. My experiences working in customer service, event organisation, and student environments have taught me the importance of listening, collaboration, and building supportive communities. I believe having a place on the Arc College Board would allow me to represent the voices of UNSW College students and help bring forward practical, student-focused ideas. I aim to advocate for initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, inclusion, and campus engagement. I am passionate about improving access to meaningful student activities, strengthening community connections, and ensuring students feel supported both academically and personally. A positive university experience is an important part of student life, and would be committed to contributing thoughtful ideas, responsible governance, and a strong student perspective to Board discussions.

I would like to nominate for the 2026 Arc @ UNSW College Board Elections. I was the Chair of the Arc @ UNSW College board from 2025 to 2026. I am passionate about student life at UNSW College and have been involved with it ever since I joined UNSW College in 2024. At UNSW College, I was a part of the College’s SRC where we made decisions to improve facilities and organised events for students. As Chair of the Arc @ UNSW College board, we started initiatives to bridge the gap between UNSW College students and UNSW Students. We regularly got feedback from students and modelled our initiatives to directly reflect the wants of the students. The experience was very fulfilling for me, and I would love to continue being a board director. Please vote for me in this election!

As a new student at UNSW College, I have seen firsthand the excitement, and the hurdles, of joining a new community. While the social events hosted by Arc are transformative, I know that the transition and "culture shock" can be challenging. I am running for the Board to bridge that gap, offering fresh perspectives to make college life more seamless and inclusive for every student, new and continuing.

This is not my first time! My commitment proven from leading my school’s Model United Nations to serving as a class representative for four consecutive years, I have a track record of earning my peers' trust and delivering results. I am not just asking for your vote; I am offering my experience and my dedication to building a better, more connected tomorrow for all of us at UNSW College.

My first year at UNSW College as an international student was both exciting and deeply challenging. Moving countries and adapting to a completely new academic and social environment can feel isolating, and I experienced firsthand how overwhelming that transition can be. It was through the College’s support services and community initiatives that I began to feel grounded and supported, something I now value immensely. Volunteering with UNSW College became a turning point for me. By supporting events and connecting with new students, I was able to help others navigate the same uncertainties I once faced, while also finding a stronger sense of belonging myself. These experiences shaped my commitment to ensuring that no student feels unsupported or overlooked. With my background in leadership and student engagement, I aim to advocate for a more inclusive, connected, and supportive UNSW College community.

I love connecting with students and helping make their time at college more engaging and supportive. As a Student Director, I learned how to contribute to meaningful decisions that support the wellbeing and interests of the student community. Volunteering and working as a Health & Wellbeing Ambassador taught me how initiatives can directly support student wellbeing, while peer mentoring showed me the importance of listening and adapting to individual needs. Each experience has strengthened my passion for student engagement and collaboration. I’m committed to acting in the best interest of Arc@UNSW College and the student community, listening carefully, and making thoughtful, informed decisions that reflect the variety of student experiences. I hope to bring this energy and perspective to the Board, helping Arc continue to be a place where students feel heard, supported, included, and able to thrive in all aspects of college life.

UNSW College is a unique community where students from diverse backgrounds come together at the start of their academic journey. I want to ensure that every student here feels represented, supported, and connected during this important transition into university life.

If elected as a Student Director for Arc @ UNSW College, I will focus on strengthening student engagement, improving access to opportunities, and ensuring that student feedback genuinely influences decisions made by the Board. Arc plays a key role in shaping student life, and I believe it should continue to expand programs that support wellbeing, community building, and leadership development.

As someone actively involved in student activities and leadership, I understand the challenges and opportunities that UNSW College students face. I will work to represent your interests with responsibility, transparency, and long-term thinking.

Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive student community at UNSW College.

My name is Ishita Gupta, and I am pursuing a Diploma of Computer Science at UNSW College, with expected graduation in August 2026. I am running for the ARC Student Board to actively contribute to improving student life and strengthening our campus community.

As a peer mentor, I have supported new students in settling into college, and I regularly volunteer at orientation programs, Thrive Thursdays, and other student engagement initiatives. My leadership experience as a school Vice-Captain and as a member of the school Editorial Board and involvement in organising theatre events have helped me develop responsibility, teamwork, and communication skills.

If elected, I will focus on organising more inclusive and affordable social events, improving communication between students and ARC, and supporting student wellbeing through initiatives that reduce academic stress and promote a balanced university experience. I am committed to representing student voices with dedication, approachability, and a proactive mindset.

UNSW College students deserve strong representation, meaningful opportunities, and a vibrant community. As a Peer Mentor, Campus Compass volunteer, and College SRC member, I work closely with our students and understand the challenges of starting university.

If elected as Student Director, I will advocate for stronger student voices in decisionmaking, expand more supportive College activities, improve the gap between College and UNSW Arc resources and funding for student initiatives, and strengthen connections with the wider UNSW Sydney community.

My goal is simple: more opportunities, better support, and a more connected UNSW College experience.

I am writing to express my interest in joining this program. As a motivated first-year Mechatronic Engineering student at UNSW with strong leadership experience and a proven commitment to teamwork.

Throughout high school, I held multiple leadership roles including Student Representative, Assistant School Pupil Leader, and Event Coordinator at my previous school.
I have received the Best Volunteer Award, which I received for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025).

Since starting at UNSW, I have continued this involvement by contributing 25+ hours of volunteering and joining the Student Representative Council (SRC). These experiences have deepened my understanding of community engagement.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute and would love to discuss how my skills and enthusiasm can benefit your team.
