I am writing to express my strong interest in joining the Arc team. As a student, I’ve experienced firsthand how Arc transforms campus life, and would love to contribute to that mission.

I am highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Whether assisting with events at the Roundhouse, helping run the Food Hub, or supporting club activities, I am a reliable team player who enjoys engaging with a diverse range of people.

My commitment to the community is also reflected in my volunteering history, notably through my work at the mosque during Ramadan. Assisting with the coordination of community events and supporting such a large, diverse group of people during a busy period helped me develop strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.

I am eager to bring my positive attitude to the team and help ensure every student has a great experience on campus. Thank you for your time and consideration!
Leon TEETZ

UNSW is more than lectures and exams, it is the communities, clubs, and opportunities that shape our university experience. I am running for the Arc Board to ensure Arc continues to strengthen student life across campus.

As a Law and Commerce international student, I value strong governance, transparency, and responsible decision-making. Arc manages important resources funded by students, and those resources should deliver real value including the likes of stronger support for clubs and societies, vibrant campus events, and accessible student services.

I want to bring a proactive and pragmatic approach to the board, listening to students, working collaboratively, and making sure Arc remains accountable to the people it represents.

UNSW students deserve an Arc that is ambitious, transparent, and focused on improving everyday campus life. I would be honoured to represent you and help shape a stronger student community.

Vote Leon Teetz - Students First. Always. - Ideas. Action. Results.

I believe student life should be more than lectures, deadlines and exam stress, it should be where ideas, communities and opportunities come together.

At UNSW Sydney, thousands of students bring different ambitions, cultures and stories. The role of Arc is to turn that diversity into vibrant student experiences be it through clubs, events, services or advocacy. This genuinely reflects what students want and how they can build it.

As a Board Director, I want to help shape the “big picture” of student life by bringing fresh ideas, practical thinking and a strong focus on student voices. I’m passionate about making Arc more visible, accessible and engaging for all students. Whether they’re joining their first club, attending their first event or simply looking for a place to belong, Arc is right there.

I’m running because I want to help build a student community that is not only active, but truly impactful.
Sanvi AGARWAL

Image for Sanvi AGARWAL
My name is Sanvi Agarwal and I study Arts/Laws. As an Indian international student, I’m interested in seeing how institutions can better represent and support diverse communities. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of governance, policy development, and accountability, while my experiences within the university community have shown me the importance of student-led organisations in shaping a vibrant campus life.

I am particularly motivated to contribute to the strategic direction of Arc because of its role in advocating for students and providing services that enhance the university experience. As an international student, I bring perspectives that are sometimes underrepresented in decision-making spaces. I am committed to ensuring that Arc’s programs, services, and advocacy reflect the needs of the entire student community. Through this role, I hope to strengthen relationships between Arc and the broader UNSW community.

Aria Johnson – Arc Board Candidate Statement

I’m running for Arc Board Director to help ensure Arc remains transparent, supportive, and responsive to the needs of UNSW students.

My priorities focus on strengthening student wellbeing and improving accountability in how Arc operates. I will work to expand peer wellbeing initiatives and increase Arc food relief programs during exam periods, ensuring students have practical support when they need it most. I also believe students deserve clearer insight into how Arc works, so I will advocate for simplified financial summaries each semester. Finally, I want to introduce regular student polls on Arc priorities so student voices directly shape decisions that impact our campus community.
Lucy QUINCE

Image for Lucy QUINCE
Hi! My name’s Lucy and I’m a 4th year Law/Science student.

Throughout my time at uni, I’ve seen a pattern whereby too many students simply come, attend their classes, and leave. What should be a place of socialising and fun, has sadly become a place to simply ‘get the degree and get out.’

I’m running for Arc Board because I want to redefine the vibe of campus and make it a place we all look forward to coming to, where students can find their people and find a strong sense of belonging. Many of our parents talk about uni as the best days of their lives — let’s keep it that way.

A vote for me is a vote for:
• $5 BREKKIE, LUNCH, & DINNER
• More funding for CULTURAL EVENTS
• CHEAPER BEVS at the ROUNDY
• CAREER BUILDING opportunities on campus
• Bringing back FREE UNI MERCH

Hey all!

I’m Jack, a 2nd year Civil Engineering student, and I’m running for Arc Board because I understand the goals, ideas, and struggles of UNSW students, and I am keen to advocate for you!

I want to emphasise everyday campus life in Arc’s priorities – with cheaper meals, more activities, accessible sports, and bigger and better club events. I also want to make life easier for fellow students living on campus in the colleges & residences.

As a student living on campus, I want to make uni a place where you don’t feel like retreating home, but rather a place you’re keen to hang around at. I’m fighting for:
• More RIGHTS for students in the COLLEGES
• $5 BREKKIE, LUNCH, & DINNER
• More funding for CULTURAL EVENTS
• CHEAPER BEVS at the ROUNDY
• CAREER DEVELOPMENT opportunities on campus

Redwan AHMED

I’m a first-year student who has only been at UNSW for a short time, but even in these first weeks, I’ve seen how much Arc shapes the student experience. From societies to events to student support, Arc plays a central role in building campus culture, and I want to be part of strengthening that impact.

I approach leadership with structure and accountability. I value clear communication, practical decisions, and following through on commitments. Even as a new student, I’m proactive in getting involved and building connections across different communities.

What I bring is a fresh perspective combined with a strong systems mindset. I think about how processes can be clearer, more efficient, and more accessible for students. I’m here to represent students responsibly, listen carefully, and contribute meaningfully, not just observe from the sidelines.
Nadia MOSTAFA

Image for Nadia MOSTAFA
Hi! My name is Nadia and I’m a 3rd year Commerce/Info Systems student. I’ve always loved every aspect of UNSW even before graduating high school and I know with the right voices in Arc we can make it even better!

As President of the Journal Society, I’ve met so many amazing students and have seen and experienced first-hand the mental, financial, and academic hardships of the average uni student. I believe Arc should prioritise student wellbeing, but real change requires real students on Arc Board. A vote for me is a vote for:
• More WELLBEING EVENTS on campus, and a bigger Stress Less Week!
• $5 BREKKIE, LUNCH, & DINNER
• More funding for CULTURAL EVENTS
• CAREER BUILDING opportunities on campus
• Bringing back FREE UNI MERCH

Alex VARUGHESE

Hi everyone, I’m Alex Varughese and I’m a third year Software Engineering and Mathematics student. Throughout my last two years at UNSW, I’ve felt myself grow as a person through being involved with Arc events, be it producing a revue, organising fun events for people, or even redrafting a society’s constitution.

But I’m aware that the way Arc delivers some of its services can be improved, and I would like the opportunity to work towards that goal. I am an innovative and creative thinker, and I believe I have the skills to make Arc an even better part of the uni experience.
Jimmy WU

Image for Jimmy WU
Hi, I’m Jimmy, an exec across multiple societies and a seasoned Arc volunteer. As someone who has interacted with many of Arc’s programs, initiatives and activities, I know what they do well and what needs fixing!

That’s why if elected to the Arc Board I will advocate for:
1. Providing cheaper meals through the Arc run food outlets (improve Arc Savers!)
2. Ending the Rubric rort! (no more $1.50 in added fees for a $5 membership at O-week)
3. Improving the grants process for clubs
4. Expanded clubs’ storage so execs no longer need store items at their homes
5. Continued support and better exposure for Arc’s volunteering and support programs

As our student organisation, Arc is part funded by your SSAF and plays a major role in contributing to your student life. That’s why through my experience; I am committed to making Arc the best that it can be!
Chirag AMAR

Lectures and exams are not all that university life entails, it also covers friendship, the culture made by students, events, and communities through which university halls seem like our home. Student life and culture are not peripheral at Arc @ UNSW, it is central.

I am standing to be Student Director, as I feel Arc has to save and build on the rich diverse culture that makes UNSW. Through clubs and societies, wellbeing programs and events on campuses, Arc defines our experiences that would remain with us even after graduation. Such culture should be fostered, accommodating, and made open to all students.
We require leadership, which knows how to make it work with both heart and figures.

I will be a strong advocate, a exceptional student director and an honest representative.
Our collegiality can help in enhancing student life, and defending our culture.
I solicit your support and your vote.
Harry LEDGER

Image for Harry LEDGER
Hi everybody, my name is Harry! I’m a Law/Arts student and I’m running for Arc Board!

Living in Sydney this past year, I’ve come to understand how hard it is to be a student supporting themselves in one of the most expensive cities in the world. I know what it’s like to work hard to pay your bills, only to find out there’s not enough time at the end of the day to be a student.

That’s why it’s important to have a voice in Arc that represents students like me, whose barriers to a great uni experience may be economic, personal, or geographical.

A vote for me is a vote for:
• $5 BREKKIE, LUNCH, & DINNER on campus
• CAREER DEVELOPMENT opportunities on campus
• More funding for CULTURAL EVENTS
• CHEAPER BEVS at the ROUNDY
• ETHICAL INVESTMENTS of our money

Conroy BLOOD

Image for Conroy BLOOD
I’m Conroy Blood, a 4th Year Law and Economics Student. I would be honoured to be a student representatives on Arc Board.

I have vast experience in governance, as a former UNSW Representative, a current Councillor in Canterbury-Bankstown Council, and Co-Convenor of the NSW Young Greens. With these skills, I can be an effective, reachable, and representative advocate, ensuring that student views are reflected in our student unions governance.

I’m particularly passionate about ensuring our student union fights back against the proposed booking cuts for student clubs. I would also ensure the work of our union is centred on service, and mutual aid. I also want to promote ethical investment and partnerships, to ensure our union isn’t complicit in Human Rights abuses. Arc has repeatedly partnered with companies listed by the UN as complicit in Human Rights abuses in Palestine.

Vote 1. Conroy Blood to bring new Blood to Arc Board.

Sumaya SULTANA

Hi! My name is Sumaya Sultana, and I am a 2nd year Media and Laws student. I am really excited about the opportunity to represent you on the Arc Board. I am loud and proud about using my voice; previously, I have hosted a radio show on issues impacting young Sydneysiders and I have also consistently published pieces platforming the opinions of youth on various socio-political issues for different organisations. I am keen to use the communication and advocacy skills these experiences have lent me for good on the Arc Board.

I am passionate about ensuring Arc prioritises the well-being and social life of students without compromising the ethical obligations expected of UNSW’s student association. On the Arc Board, I would work towards more resources for Clubs, cheaper food on campus and greater support for on-campus mutual aid initiatives. I would also promote ethical financial partnerships and investments.
Shameer CHEEMA

Image for Shameer CHEEMA
Hello all, my name is Shameer Cheema, and I am a first-year Electrical Engineering student at the University of New South Wales. Since I set my sights on UNSW, I always knew that being somebody who could contribute positively to the student body was something I wanted to do.

Being part of a team of like-minded individuals whose backgrounds may differ, yet our interests align is exactly the university experience I strive to undertake. Though I have only been here a short time, the current student body has been nothing short of spectacular. Seeing how big of an impact ARC can have on students makes me excited for my years to come and hopefully something I can be apart of.
Lucas YEO

I would like to nominate for the 2026 Arc Board Elections. I was the Chair of the Arc @ UNSW College board from 2025 to 2026. I am passionate about student life at UNSW and have been involved with it ever since I joined UNSW College in 2024. At UNSW College, I was a part of the College’s SRC where we made decisions to improve facilities and organised events for students.

As Chair of the Arc @ UNSW College board, we started initiatives to bridge the gap between UNSW College students and UNSW Students. We regularly got feedback from students and modelled our initiatives to directly reflect the wants of the students. The experience was very fulfilling for me, and I would love to be a board director for Arc. Please vote for me in this election!
Sam BAKER

Image for Sam BAKER
Hi, I’m Sam! I’m a fourth-year Commerce/Law student. I’m currently on the Arc Board, and previously I was a resident and Treasurer at Philip Baxter College.

Over the past two years, I’ve worked to ensure Arc delivers the things that make student life at UNSW special, whilst supporting students throughout their university journey. I’d love your support in re-electing me to continue that work.

During my time on the Board, I’ve helped deliver:
- Cost-of-living support, including free and subsidised meals on campus
- Securing Food Hub’s future, ensuring it has a permanent home at UNSW
- The new Rubric portal, improving life for club execs

If re-elected, I’ll:
- Fight for a permanent, subsidised canteen serving $5 meals, every day
- Advocate for greater support and recognition for club execs
- Expand Arc’s wellbeing and academic support offerings to support students’ mental health

So please, vote [1] Sam Baker!
Valeriia SEDLAK

Image for Valeriia SEDLAK
As a Master of Education student and Fine Arts graduate, I have studied across both the Kensington and Paddington campuses, giving me a clear understanding of student experiences and the importance of a connected community.

I am running for the Arc Board to represent student voices and contribute thoughtfully to decisions that support our community and promote a culture of inclusion and belonging. I value listening carefully, approaching challenges with balance, and helping ensure student perspectives are reflected in how decisions are made.

I bring a mature and dependable perspective shaped by my experience in education and community work. My aim is to act with integrity and help create a culture where people feel respected, supported, and able to make the most of their time at university.
Saii Yashaa GOPINATH RAO

Image for Saii Yashaa GOPINATH RAO
Hi, I’m Saii Yashaa, a third-year Renewable Energy Engineering student and President of the Women in Engineering Society (WIESoc). As an international student living on campus, I understand the importance of finding community that feels like home.

Arc plays a crucial role in shaping student life, from supporting clubs and societies to strengthening connection to the University. Having experienced how much clubs contribute to student life, I hope to help Arc continue empowering student groups across campus. Through my leadership experience as a Student Ambassador, Deputy Chairperson of MASCANSW, and Sports Director of Fig Tree Hall College, I have worked with diverse student communities and understand the importance of empowering voices.

I hope to strengthen relationship between Arc and student groups while ensuring student voices are represented and supported.
I found my place at UNSW—and hope to help make that possible for everyone.

So please vote [1] Saii Yashaa.
Elektra COOK

Image for Elektra COOK
If you’re reading this, you most likely care about the kind of student life we’re cultivating at UNSW.

So do I.

I’m Elektra, an Arts/Law student running for Arc Board because I believe the best decisions are made when the people affected are at the centre of them.

Through leadership in co-curricular music and sport, as well as working in a small office team, I’ve learned how valuable clear communication, collaboration and wellbeing are to genuine representation.

I’ve also seen how changes in funding and resources can determine which opportunities continue and which quietly disappear, along with the voices behind them.
If elected, I will strive to strengthen academic support, mental health resources and student-led initiatives to promote an inclusive university culture where everyone can access opportunities they need to succeed.

So let’s work together, because the kind of campus we shape today defines the experience we all have tomorrow.
Linh DIP

Image for Linh DIP
My interest is in the Board Election for the position of Student Director stems from a passion for student representation and event organisation. Through my roles within the Youth Health Advisory Group, Fowler Youth Advisory Committee, and as a previous member of my high school’s Formal Committee, I have experience in collaborating with fellow members to plan activities that advocate for relevant social issues and encourage connection between students.

By balancing these commitments, I understand the importance of balancing time and effort to ensure my continued part in ARC’s goal of ensuring students’ wellbeing and belonging. As a first-year, I am eager to represent my fellow peers by conveying their thoughts and needs while engaging with the other directors to deliver upon our communities’ needs by executing the necessary commitments to strengthen the bond between ARC and the wider UNSW community.
Charlotte LAST

Image for Charlotte LAST
Hello! I’m Charlotte, and I’d love to represent you as a member of the Arc Board in 2026.
I’m a fourth-year Law and Arts student from regional NSW. I lived at Philip Baxter College for two years, serving as Sports Director and Secretary of the Inter-College Sporting Association, and currently serving my second year as Student Secretary of the UNSW Football Club. Through these roles, I’ve worked to bring students together, support campus communities, and create opportunities for people to feel connected and involved.

My aim is to help other students make the most of their time by:
1) Strengthening student communities so everyone can find their place and lifelong friendships at UNSW;
2) Improving access to Arc opportunities, clubs, sport and support services so no student misses out;
3) Advocating for inclusive, supportive and accessible campus experiences where all students feel represented and heard.

Please vote [1] for Charlotte Last!
Arnav ASTHANA

Image for Arnav ASTHANA
Hi, I’m Arnav Asthana, a second-year Commerce and Media student running as an independent candidate for Student Director.

Being involved in student communities at UNSW has given me the chance to interact with people across different degrees, cultures and interests. One thing becomes clear very quickly. The best parts of university often happen outside the classroom through the communities we build and the opportunities we take.

That’s why I’m running.

My goal is to expand the opportunities available to students across campus and support the communities that make student life at UNSW so vibrant. My focus will be on strengthening student life, supporting student-led initiatives, and ensuring students have more ways to get involved, explore their interests, and build meaningful connections during their time at university.

I want to build a campus culture where every student can find a community, pursue their passions, and feel like they truly belong at UNSW.
Luc HARVEY

Image for Luc HARVEY
Heya! My name is Luc Harvey, I’m a 2nd year Law and Economics student hoping to represent and serve you as a member of Arc Board.

As UNSW’s student association, Arc plays an important role not only in ensuring student life at UNSW is dynamic and fun, but also in advocating for better quality-of-life and education results for students. On Arc Board, I will work hard to ensure that Arc’s resources are put toward your best interests, especially in regards to affordability and equal access to education and student resources. This includes increased access to resources for clubs & societies, more investment into affordable food options on campus, and a re-focus towards delivering quality assistance and services for students.

I have previously been a candidate for the UNSW SRC in 2025, running on a platform of affordability, including affordable textbook options and access to free coffee and tea across campus.
Surabhi GOVIND

Image for Surabhi GOVIND
Hi, I’m Surabhi!

I’m a UNSW Psychology Peer Mentor, the Marketing Director for Wandering Society, and I volunteer with Women in Health Network, an organisation for South Asian health professionals and students. Throughout my involvement with various UNSW clubs and collectives, I have benefited from the many services provided by Arc. However, I have also seen firsthand how ingrained racism and misogyny are in UNSW student culture.

If I elected, I will:
- Make sure that members of all UNSW collectives have safe, functional and accessible spaces, starting with the long-overdue relocation of the Queerspace.
- Strengthen the complaints procedures within Arc clubs and collectives so incidents of gendered violence and racism aren’t swept under the rug.
- Continue to promote free community-centred events around UNSW that foster inclusivity.
I am committed to giving back to the community and making UNSW club spaces safer, more accessible and inclusive.
Parisha SINGH

Hi everyone!

My name is Parisha Singh and I am nominating myself to join the Arc Board at the University of New South Wales. As an International student studying Science, I am passionate about student representation, strong governance, and transparent leadership. I believe effective leadership is built on accountability, collaboration, and genuinely listening to the student voice.

Through my academic journey and experience in team environments, I have developed strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills that I would bring to the Board. I am eager not only to contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes, but also to gain deeper insight into governance structures and strategic leadership.

If elected, I will advocate for inclusivity, integrity, and initiatives that enhance student life. I am committed to representing you with professionalism and dedication. I would be honoured to have your support.
Abbey GLENDENNING

Image for Abbey GLENDENNING
On a particularly dull and rainy day, I began my hour-long trek on public transport. Having arrived for the first time on lower campus, I was so repelled by its aesthetic neglect that I actually struggled to commit to walking in and studying.

But my vanity problem doesn’t have to be limited to a mere character flaw. Once elected, I will be able to use my fresh eyes as a first-year student to transform the campus’ physical and social environment. This means tackling identified issues in student life with tangible results, starting with something as simple as recycling bins, which are virtually absent despite the millions of coffee cups and energy drinks that we seem to discard daily.

University is a transitory point in life that is filled with fear, growing pains and wonder. The cohort deserves a campus that supports them through this turbulence.
