Anthony MA (Kensington Fried Chicken)

Kensington Fried Chicken exists to fix the saddest part of campus life: lunch. Fourteen dollar salads, queues that move like week three lectures, portions designed by minimalists. We have a simpler vision: crispy, affordable, fast.

• Our secret blend of 11 policies and programs are mostly common sense and seasoning.
• Buckets of value for students, not buckets of buzzwords.
• Microwaves that actually heat. Seats and shade so friends can feast.
• Chaplaincy for Week Ten hunger: chips.
• If a meal costs more than your tutorial, we will make noise about it.

Vote 1 Kensington Fried Chicken! Bring your mates, bring your appetite and leave the sad sandwiches behind. Our original recipe is simple. Cheaper. Tastier. Faster. The rest is just gravy.
Luke COX (TOGETHER)

Hi, I’m Luke and I’m running to be your next SRC President. As a fourth-year Arts/Law student from South-West Sydney who has to balance work and study, I understand the challenges that students face every day. Having been an SRC Councillor since 2024, I know how much we need an SRC that will actually deliver for all students. As SRC President, I will fight for reforms to make life easier for students, like capping final exam weights at 40%, short extensions for all courses, cost-price student accommodation, expanding concession opal card eligibility to international and part-time students, more affordable parking on campus, and ending the exploitation of international students. I want to lead an SRC that is diverse, progressive, and brings all students TOGETHER to make our university fun, fair, and student-focused.

As a first-year Science student at UNSW and an international student from an ethnocultural background, I am excited to nominate myself for SRC President. I understand how daunting university life can feel at the start, especially for those navigating new cultures, systems, and expectations. I believe the SRC should be a voice for all students, championing inclusivity, fairness, and wellbeing while building a stronger sense of community. If elected, I will prioritise creating open channels of communication so every student feels their concerns are heard. I aim to strengthen student engagement with the SRC, advocate for improved academic and wellbeing support, and ensure that diverse voices are not only represented but celebrated. With passion, collaboration, and dedication, I want to help make UNSW a place where all students can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Billy SCHARZENBERGER MORAN (365)

Image for Billy SCHARZENBERGER MORAN (365)
As a reporter on the SRC this year, I’ve seen first hand the benefits of an SRC run by 365. We created Clothing Hub, which allows students to thrift clothes on campus for free. Additionally, trimesters are finally on their way out, and 5 dollar meals are on their way in. This year we’ve gotten the balance right- negotiating with management where we can, and doing things ourselves, where we must.

Other tickets promise great things- the difference is 365 will get them done. If elected, we will deliver:

(1)Free food options on campus, (2) expanded mutual aid program to include textbooks and homewares, (3) short extensions for all courses, (4) an end to our UNSW’s ties to weapons companies.

So, if you want free food, free clothes, textbooks and a free Palestine, Vote [1] 365

You Wei CHUNG (EDGE)

Image for You Wei CHUNG (EDGE)
Hi, you might know me as You Wei Parra or yukko (parra) online, and for those who don’t I’ll get you up to speed. What I love at UNSW is clubs; if you run a hobby society I most likely would’ve seen you before. And my belief is that clubs really make the backbone of UNSW social life. But there’s more we can do to improve clubs.

Why is it near impossible to host an event at the Parramatta campus? How can we address the cost-of-living crisis so people can have a social life again? And how can we advocate for better transport, so students can even go to an event?

If elected, I’ll ensure I’ll be listening to all of your comments about how to improve UNSW; because there are many issues on campus still left to be addressed.

Poll: General Secretary
Sid CHANDRA (Kensington Fried Chicken)

Image for Sid CHANDRA (Kensington Fried Chicken)
I’m Sid, running for General Secretary with Kensington Fried Chicken. I’ll keep the SRC crispy, organised and serving students fresh, not stale. I’ve built experience as a Law/Commerce student, paralegal and volunteer, and I know how to coordinate, communicate and get things done.

- Our secret blend of 11 policies and programs are mostly common sense and seasoning.
- Buckets of value for students, not buckets of buzzwords.
- Microwaves that actually heat. Seats and shade so friends can feast.
- Chaplaincy for Week Ten hunger: chips.
- If a meal costs more than your tutorial, we will make noise about it.

The General Secretary is the organiser of the SRC, and I’ll make sure nothing goes cold or forgotten. Agendas, minutes and communication will be served hot and fast, with full transparency.

Vote 1 Sid for General Secretary!

Tastier. Cheaper. Faster. The rest is just gravy.
Jimmy WU (EDGE)

Image for Jimmy WU (EDGE)
Hi, I’m Jimmy, an active participant in the UNSW community as a club exec and volunteer.

Students deserve the best possible university experience. We need a strong SRC that represents, listens to, and consistently engages with students, focuses on the issues directly impacting students and fights for what is achievable to deliver tangible & meaningful change.

As General Secretary I will fight for:
1. Improved campus facilities (Library, CATS rooms, toilets etc.)
2. Improved transport to campus
3. Greater support for societies (expanded clubs’ storage and fairer poster space usage rules)
4. Appropriate allocation of the $20,000,000 collected from SSAF, especially of the $600,000 to the SRC
5. Academic and welfare support (expanded upon by other EDGE candidates)

Our SRC has for too long been beset with sectarianism and political machinations from wider political organisations. EDGE stands for a united SRC with INDEPENDENCE, INTEGRITY and INVOLVEMENT. Let’s deliver tangible change!
Diya SENGUPTA (365)

Image for Diya SENGUPTA (365)
365 is entirely comprised of and funded by students. Unlike some of the other tickets, we are not interested in promoting the Labor Party or Socialist Alternative.

I’m the 2025 SRC president running to your general secretary next year. In my term as president, trimesters were abolished, 5-dollar meals were implemented on campus, and hundreds of dollars for mutual aid funds were raised. We also created Clothing Hub, allowing students to access free clothing and donate any unwanted items.

Other tickets promise great things- the difference is 365 will get them done. If elected, we will focus on:

(1) expanding mutual aid programs on campus to include textbooks and homewares
(2) fighting for short extensions for all courses
(3) demanding UNSW cut ties with genocide
(4) cheaper food on campus

Hi, I’m Daniel, a 2nd-year Computer Science and Physics student, running to be elected as your General Secretary with TOGETHER!

I’m fighting for real, practical reforms that will make life easier for me and you:

- 40% CAP on FINAL EXAM weights & SHORT EXTENSIONS for ALL courses
- AFFORDABLE PARKING on campus with DAILY CAPS like USYD & UTS
- FINANCIAL SUPPORT through GROCERY VOUCHERS & RENTAL ASSISTANCE
- FUN EVENTS hosted by students at the ROUNDHOUSE
- CUTTING UNIVERSITY TIES with WEAPONS COMPANIES

I believe that a strong and progressive SRC should bring students TOGETHER, focus on achieving pragmatic wins, and make sure that the university experience is fun, fair, and affordable.

TOGETHER has a strong track record of achieving real student wins, like ENDING TRIMESTERS by 2028, negotiating FLEX WEEK, and establishing FOOD HUB!

I am nominating myself for General Secretary because I believe effective organisation and transparent communication are at the heart of a strong SRC. As a first-year Science student and international student, I have already seen how overwhelming university life can be without clear information and accessible support. In this role, I will ensure that meetings, campaigns, and decisions are documented and communicated openly to the student body. I want to create accessible summaries of key SRC activities so that every student, regardless of their background, understands how the council is working for them. My ethnocultural background has shown me the importance of bridging communication across different communities, and I will bring this inclusive perspective to the role. By ensuring accountability and clarity, I will help make the SRC more approachable and transparent for all UNSW students.

Poll: Education Officer
Jamie TYERS (Left Action)

Image for Jamie TYERS (Left Action)
Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m running for Education Officer with Left Action! I have been an activist for the past few years at UNSW fighting around issues like education cuts, affordable housing and for a free Palestine.

I have been Education Officer throughout 2025, leading many progressive campaigns on campus and across Sydney, such as the campaign against UNSW’s weapons ties, for LGBTI+ rights and anti-racist organising. I helped to organise the record-breaking Harbour Bridge March for Palestine. As Education Officer, we successfully campaigned for the university to return to the semester system.

As Education Officer, I will continue to fight for the SRC to campaign for the left-wing issues that students care about and to be a voice for students fighting for a more affordable student experience. Vote [1] Left Action - Free Palestine!

Hi everyone, I'm akash. I'm a third-year arts/law student, and I am proud to have had the privilege of serving as the General Secretary of your SRC.

This time, I am running to be your education officer because, for too long, the office has been run by professional protesters (yes, the ones that harass you on main walkway), more interested in a socialist revolution than delivering meaningful changes for you.

We've killed the trimester, but there is still more work to be done. I want to make your time at uni as smooth, fair, and rewarding as possible. This means simple extensions for all your courses, 40% final exam weightage, Paid prac for all placements, standardised assignment submission times at 11:59pm and ending the fit to sit rule.

Together, we can do better.

Living in Fig Tree Hall has made me understand that academic student success is based on not only peer support, but also educational quality and accessibility.

Having experience in managing projects during my coursework journey has progressively developed my research, innovation and leadership Skills. Also, I have first-hand experience of educational accessibility issues due to having a diverse range of courses, and badge training.

Poll: Welfare Officer
Khaleed MOHAMMED (EDGE)

Image for Khaleed MOHAMMED (EDGE)
Major policy: Cost of Living On Campus

Purpose
1. Cost of living is the #1 welfare issue for students in 2025 (rising rent, food, transport, and utilities).
2. A Universities Australia survey (2023) showed that 62% of students skip meals, 39% can’t afford textbooks, and 1 in 5 seriously consider dropping out due to costs.
3. UNSW, being in Sydney (one of the most expensive cities in the world for students), has an even higher burden, especially for international and low-income students.

What is the policy’s direction?
1. $5 Healthy Meal Program (expand subsidized food security initiative).
2. Affordable student housing advocacy with UNSW and the NSW government.
3. Living support grants funded through SSAF for students in crisis.

Implementation
1. Negotiate with UNSW food outlets + Arc for a daily $5 meal scheme for a certain time duration.
2. Lobby UNSW to dedicate SSAF and housing revenue to expanding low-cost student housing near Kensington.
3. Partner with charities and NGOs for student hardship grants.

Maintenance
1. SRC-run Food Security & Housing Committee to monitor progress.
2. Annual welfare survey to evaluate success.

As your elected Welfare Officer, I will fight for real and direct change like short extensions for ALL courses, standardised 11:59pm assessment due times, improvement of meaningful services like Food Hub and so much more. Hi, I’m Sharon, a Psychology student at UNSW and a passionate advocate for student wellbeing.
At UNSW, I've contributed as a PASH peer in Health Promotions, supporting campaigns like Sextember and Mental Health Month. I'm also part of the Mental Health Network, holding both Standard and Youth MHFA certificates.
As a Learn to Swim mentor and member of the rowing squad, I promote water safety and team wellbeing. Through CSA's Career Portfolio, I help facilitate peer mentoring and design programs that embrace neurodiversity and inclusion.
Beyond campus, I serve as a Residential Advisor at UniLodge, organising initiatives like R U OK? Day, and volunteer with One Door Mental Health, offering warmline outreach to support people navigating mental health challenges.
If elected as Welfare Officer, I'll work to ensure that wellbeing is not a privilege, but a foundation for every student. I’d be honoured to have your vote, thank you!

Hey, I'm Emma and I'm running with Left Action - Free Palestine for SRC for the Welfare Office.

I am proud to have been a part of leading the Palestine solidarity movement both on and off campus to demand that our universities and government cut their ties to the Genocide. From the massive Harbor Bridge March, to the student strike, to the Town Hall debate with management - I have worked tirelessly to get students involved to fight for a free Palestine.

I am also a trade unionist and have fought around questions of the cost of living crisis both on and off campus, including campaigns about the cost of housing on campus and for free education.

I am standing for Women’s Officer because I believe every woman at UNSW deserves to feel safe, respected, and empowered. As a first-year Science student and international student from an ethnocultural background, I bring a unique perspective on how gender equality intersects with culture and identity. I want to use this role to advocate for stronger protections against harassment, expanded access to wellbeing and support services, and initiatives that empower women across all faculties and communities. I also aim to foster mentorship and networking opportunities for women in science and other underrepresented fields. My vision is for UNSW to be a place where women feel confident, supported, and celebrated for their contributions. By listening to the diverse experiences of women across campus, I will work to ensure the SRC is a powerful advocate for gender equality and inclusivity.

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’m a 22-year-old Arts/Law student from Coffs Harbour who lives on campus, and I’m running to be your next Women’s Officer. Raised by a single mother, I’m passionate about women’s rights and supporting women into leadership. Coming from a regional town and being the first in my family to attend university, I know how important it is to have someone in your corner. I want UNSW to be a safer, more supportive place for all women and gender-diverse students. I will fight for free and accessible period products in bathrooms, free contraceptives on campus, more women-only events, stronger gender-based violence support and on-campus childcare for student parents. I want to lead a Women’s Collective that brings students TOGETHER and build a campus where everyone is heard.

This year, I gained invaluable experience volunteering as the Women’s Collective social media executive, promoting the Palestine NDA, organising collective events and mutual aid initiatives for Indigenous Women.

As governments around the world disintegrate and repeal women’s rights, our fight to protect them is only becoming more important. In times like these, community solidarity and empowering all women’s voices is paramount, especially in universities.

I am motivated by a determined sense of social justice and will always foreground the voices of women of colour and LGBTQ+, including Palestinian, First Nations and trans women.

If elected, my focuses will include;
(1) improving gendered violence and consent education
(2) expanding the availability of period products on campus
(3) empowering and funding female-led clubs to run more events
(4) establishing ongoing mutual aid programs for women in Gaza

Hi, I’m Arya! I love thrifting, food and a good chick flick on a Friday night. I’m a second year Engineering student. Originally from Canberra, I’ve lived on campus and have experienced all things UNSW for the past two years. There are ways I’ve noticed we can improve experience for women across campus and understand how difficult it is to find your place at uni. As your SRC Women’s Officer next year I aim to ensure getting help for gendered violence is easier and supporting women-led societies and initiatives that focus on building community and educating people about women’s issues on campus. While I may not always be the loudest in the room, I LOVE meeting new people, thrive as a team player and will always be here to hear you out and share your ideas. Can’t wait to see what’s next in 2026–vote for Arya!

Eugene TANG

Hello!! I’m Eugene (he/him) and I’m a bi trans student currently studying psychology. Over the past few years of being a UNSW student, I have engaged and organised in a lot of queer related events and societies (ie. Boys & Girls Love Media Society’s Marketing director, Organiser of UNSW Queer Artist Market 2025). When engaging with fellow queer folks on campus I have come to the realisation that UNSW’s queer community is overall lacking in cultural inclusivity/representation. As a result, I wanted to use my lived experience as a queer Chinese student to help achieve the following initiatives:
- Offer activities, events and discussions that can be more culturally-inclusive to represent UNSW’s queer culture;
- Bring back and build UNSW Mardi Gras Parade participation to bring a richer voice to Sydney’s biggest queer event;
- Provide resources and cultural support networks, including but not limited to translated resources!

I'm Violet Bustos-McNeil, first year Engineering and IR student, and I would love to be one of your queer officers for 2026! I love the queer community at UNSW and want to make it my mission to foster and serve this thriving community in hopes of making it even better!

As Queer officer I would try to connect the UNSW queer community to those of other universities as well as focus on continuing to improve the queer space :)

Poll: Environment Officer
Milo RIGGS (SHOUTOUT!)

Image for Milo RIGGS (SHOUTOUT!)
I’m running for Environment Officer because the recent climate report makes it impossible to ignore the need for action. Our planet is in crisis while our university is in bed with climate criminals, and Socialist Alternative (Left Action) has held only two environment meetings over the last two years. We need a progressive, grassroots SRC to fight for the climate while beautifying campus with community gardens of native plants. Only a vote for SHOUTOUT is a vote for environmental action.

Vote SHOUTOUT! for:
• Native garden student spaces on campus
• Cutting UNSW’s ties with fossil fuel companies
• SRC run free flu vaccinations on campus
• More 24/7 student spaces with free amenities like kettles, microwaves, instant coffee, and tea bags
• Divestment and boycott of companies complicit in the genocide in and illegal apartheid occupation in Palestine
• Communal resources like lab coats, safety goggles, and textbooks
• Mandatory Indigenous cultural awareness training for staff
Stella KIM (EDGE)

As the Environment Officer, I would like to see the following changes on our campus:

- Better drainage on campus (especially from the rainbow stairs to lower campus)
Every rainy season, rain seeps into our shoes as we have to walk from lower to upper campus. Furthermore, lower part of campus gets drenched by the rain so badly that even lecturers joke about water skiing around.
The uncontrollable puddles of water should be brought up to management to we can fix the issue
- The fixing of current smart bottle bins and water fountain/bubblers
Repair of current facilities on campus will help improve campus life
- Sustainable relationship with the coal/oil/mining industry
As we progress towards alternative sources of energy, a sustainable relationship with industry is important.
Discussing solutions to mitigate climate change, and acknowledging UNSW’s integration of sustainability on campus and education is important
Adyant AGNIHOTRI (TOGETHER)

Hi, I’m Adyant Agnihotri and I’m running to be your next SRC Environment Officer because I believe sustainability and student wellbeing should go hand in hand. I’m a Mechanical Engineering student and what drives me is a passion for improving both the environment and the everyday student experience at UNSW. That means having more compost and recycling bins on campus, running second-hand markets to make student life more affordable and sustainable, more sustainability seminars and student workshops for climate action and low-waste living, free bike tune-up days, and looking after our green spaces on campus. Being environmentally conscious shouldn’t be expensive or difficult. I want to lead an Environment Collective that brings all students TOGETHER to make life easier, cheaper and greener.

As an international student, I also understand how different cultures affect responses and attitudes to gendered violence. I want UNSW to be a place where everyone feels safe, empowered and excited to learn.

If elected, I’ll focus on:
1. Culturally inclusive education on gendered violence and sexual assault
2. Stocking period products in all bathrooms

5. Expanding food hub and 5 dollar meals on campus

Hello! I'm Varsh Rane, a third year international student studying engineering.

Uni can be hard. Integrating into a new culture while looking for housing and trying to understand their working rights feels even harder. As a new student in UNSW, I noticed it was simply the norm for my peers to so feel overwhelmed and isolated by it all, that they couldn’t even focus on their studies.

But it doesn’t have to be this way, we can make it better.

I want to help make our campus a space where you can receive all the aid you need to you focus on studying and having a good time at uni.

This means advocating for more legal aid regarding housing and labour rights. This means calling for cheaper meals on campus.

I would love the opportunity to represent my fellow international students and advocate for a safer, more supportive campus.

I even work at Share Tea on campus (if I’ve served you before, you definitely know the vibe I’ll bring to the table). As an International Student, I understand the issues that are most relevant to us.

As an international student myself, I know firsthand the unique challenges faced by students moving far from home to study at UNSW. From navigating visas and finances to adjusting socially and academically, the international student experience can be both exciting and overwhelming. As a first-year Science student, I bring fresh energy and perspective to this role, with a genuine commitment to advocating for international students’ rights and wellbeing. If elected, I will focus on improving access to support services, ensuring fair treatment in academic policies, and creating more opportunities for international students to connect with the wider student body. I also want to promote cultural exchange initiatives that help international and domestic students learn from one another. My aim is to make UNSW not just a university where international students study, but a community where we belong and thrive.

Right now, a lot of the fight for student life and activism is failing to take disabled students into account. Uni is already such an overwhelming place, and the SRC needs to do more to look out for the students who frequently don't get a voice.

A larger goal of mine is to increase awareness in the SRC of what disability means and what accessibility can look like. Whether you're physically disabled, neurodivergent, experience chronic pain or fatigue, or you struggle with mental health, its time the SRC made more room for everyone.

If elected, we will
1) revive the disabilities collective to create a space for disabled students
2) ensure ELP enforcement
3) collaborate on informed training with academic and club execs
4) expand sensory-friendly spaces on campus
5)expand borrowing hub for disability support

I’m an experienced Left Wing Activist. Through my time on SRC and Canterbury-Bankstown Council as the sole Green, I have learned to hold power to account, and make the fees of students and ratepayers awork for their interests, and not for Labor, and Socialist Alternatives personal benefit. I’m keen to continue my work rebuilding the Disability Community at UNSW after years of neglect, and provide a space to connect and collectively advocate with each other.

Vote SHOUTOUT! For:
- SRC run free flu vaccinations on campus
- More 24/7 student spaces with free amenities like kettles, microwaves, instant coffee, and tea bags
- Divestment and boycott of companies complicit in the genocide in and illegal apartheid occupation in Palestine
- Native garden student spaces on campus
- Communal resources like lab coats, safety goggles, and textbooks
- Mandatory Indigenous cultural awareness training for staff
- Cutting UNSW’s ties with fossil fuel companies

Hi, my name is Caesar Boehme, and I am running for students with disabilities officer to UPLIFT your opportunities on campus and beyond. As your elected representative, I will champion the rights of students with disabilities on campus and ensure that everyone has access to the disability support that they need. I will raise awareness about rest breaks, extra time and other provisions that students with disabilities are entitled to for their exams.

No more long waits. I’ll push for faster, more accessible counselling services, more drop-in sessions, and stronger support for students with disabilities and chronic health conditions — because mental health affects us all.

I’ll partner with employers to create accessible internships and make UNSW careers fairs inclusive with interpreters, quiet rooms, and accessible materials. With a disability employment hub and employer awareness training, we’ll ensure every student has equal opportunities to succeed in their future career.

Hi, I’m Cody, a proud Torres Strait Islander running to be your next Indigenous Officer. I’m from Junee in regional New South Wales and now live on campus, studying Arts/Law. With the right wing increasing their attacks on Indigenous Australians, our culture, and our identity, we need a voice on the SRC that will stand up and fight for us. I believe Indigenous leadership and First Nations empowerment are essential to a progressive and inclusive UNSW. My priorities will be hosting monthly corroborees on campus so Indigenous students can share stories and connect, pushing for more culturally sensitive mental health and academic support services for mob, and advancing reconciliation and storytelling. TOGETHER we can build a campus that respects and empowers Indigenous students.

Ethan LIN (EDGE)

Hey everyone! I’m Ethan, your current Ethno-Cultural Officer, running for re-election. I have both the experience and ambition needed to serve diverse UNSW communities. I believe that the SRC should focus on tangible, student-centred initiatives, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Over my first term, I have:

1. Created a $1,000 grant for Arc cultural clubs to host joint events
2. Hosted a fundraiser barbecue that raised $245 for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and provided affordable $2 snags for students
3. Developed an Incoming Students’ Guide with targeted information for culturally-diverse students

By re-electing me, you’ll be contributing to this proud record. If re-elected, I’ll continue to fight for an inclusive and discrimination-free campus by advocating for a discrimination reporting portal. I’ll lobby for even more grant opportunities for cultural clubs to thrive. Above all, I’ll be a willing ear for your concerns, big or small. Vote [1] EDGE!
Avasa BAJRACHARYA (Left Action)

Image for Avasa BAJRACHARYA (Left Action)
I’m Avasa, and I’m proud to be running with Left Action - Free Palestine for the SRC for the Ethnocultural Officer.

It is imperative that we have an activist student union that fights against racism and for a free Palestine. This year, we saw an alarming rise of the far-right in Australia and globally. We need an anti-racist fightback. This requires a left-wing activist in the Ethnocultural Office.

With the Gaza genocide, we now see the result of two years of complicity from all institutions and governments, including UNSW. Our university continues its ties to weapons companies while over 600,000+ Palestinians are dead.

In the past two years, I've been a part of organising pro-Palestine, pro-refugee and anti-facist activism. My track record proves the politics and experience needed for a real fight back against the right and that is why you should vote for me as your ethnocultural officer.
Parisha SINGH

Coming from an ethnocultural background myself, I am deeply passionate about ensuring that UNSW is a space where cultural diversity is respected, supported, and celebrated. As a first-year Science student and international student, I understand the challenges that come with adjusting to a new environment while maintaining cultural identity. If elected as Ethno-Cultural Officer, I will advocate for stronger representation of culturally diverse students in university decision-making, work to address discrimination, and promote inclusive events that highlight and celebrate our rich diversity. My goal is to create safe spaces for students from all cultural backgrounds, where their voices and experiences are recognised and valued. I will also collaborate with other SRC representatives to push for initiatives that make UNSW a genuinely multicultural and welcoming campus. Diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and I am committed to amplifying it.

Shlama! (an Assyrian word meaning peace be with you)

I’m Dennis, a second-generation Australian with Assyrian heritage, and I’m running for Ethnic-Officer.

Campus life shouldn’t mean overpriced salads and food courts that forget most of our cultures exist. We deserve cheaper, tastier, and more diverse food options, shops that reflect our community.

My vision is simple:

● Affordable meals that don’t cost more than your tutorial.

● Diverse outlets that celebrate our global student body.

● Spaces to share and connect, because culture starts at the table.

● Short extensions and flexible support so students from ethnic and cultural backgrounds aren’t forced to choose between heritage and studies.

I’ve been involved in Intercultural Night, the Intercultural Cup, and other cultural initiatives at UNSW, and I know how powerful diversity can be when it’s truly supported.

Hi, I’m Luke and I’m running to be re-elected as your Councillor A on the SRC. As a fourth-year Arts/Law student from South-West Sydney who balances work and study, I understand the challenges that students face every day. Having been on the SRC since 2024, I know how much we need an SRC that will actually deliver for all students. That’s why I will fight for reforms to make life easier for students, like capping final exam weights at 40%, providing simple extensions for all courses, expanding concession opal card eligibility to international and part-time students, making parking more affordable, and extending coffee hours on campus beyond 5pm. I want to be a passionate, progressive voice on the SRC who will bring students TOGETHER to make our university fun, fair and student-focused.

EDGE stands for a united SRC with INDEPENDENCE, INTEGRITY and INVOLVEMENT, not the sectarianism and political machinations that currently beset our SRC.

As a councillor for Electorate A (ADA, Business and Law) I will fight for:
1. Improved campus facilities (Library, CATS rooms, toilets etc.)
2. Improved transport options
3. Greater support for societies (expanded clubs storage and fairer poster space usage rules)
4. Appropriate allocation of the $20,000,000 collected from SSAF, especially of the $600,000 to the SRC
5. Academic and welfare support
6. Better links between Kensington and Paddington campuses

We are fighting for a better campus and better experiences for Western Sydney-based students, including: an enhanced Parramatta Campus, upgrades to existing on-campus facilities and resources, fixing our library and expanding affordable food options. I believe a great SRC is one that both represents the student body but also works to achieve better outcomes for the existing student base, something that EDGE recognises and will fight for.

I am passionate, dedicated, and motivated to make practical change, as demonstrated through my extensive engagement with university life, which has developed my skills to allow me to effectively represent you.

Seb KOELSCH (Left Action)

The SRC should actively defend students’ interests and fight for the issues we care about. Voting for me and Left Action is voting for an SRC that actually represents students.

I’m Seb, and I’m running for the SRC with Left Action - Free Palestine. I’ve been a part of organising campaigns on campus like the National Student Strike and National Student Referendum for Palestine. These campaigns have been crucial in giving students a voice to stand up to university management as they continue to tie themselves to weapons companies and the genocide in Palestine through research and investment.

I want our representative council to be a body that takes up every issue that is vital to students on and off campus. From tackling the cost of living crisis to the Gaza genocide our SRC has to be an activist body that fights for students’ rights and interests.
Anais WILLIAMSON (Left Action)

Image for Anais WILLIAMSON (Left Action)
I’m Anais and I’m running with Left Action in the SRC election this year!

We need a student union which fights for our rights and for social justice. Our university is complicit in the genocide in Gaza, investing our fees and research into the war machine. Left Action will fight for the university to support public good instead of corporate profits. UNSW’s $200m surplus should go towards free education and affordable housing!

To do this we need an activist SRC. Over the last year, I’ve been proud to fight for a free Palestine, an end to UNSW’s weapons ties, and against the racist far-right.

The activists in Left Action have been relentlessly campaigning for Palestine both on and off campus, and the movement is still growing. I think our SRC can play an important role in continuing the fight!

Vote [1] Left Action – Free Palestine.
Kitty FITZPATRICK (Left Action)

Image for Kitty FITZPATRICK (Left Action)
Hiya! I’m Kitty and I’m running with Left Action- Free Palestine because we need an activist student council that campaigns for the issues young people care about.

Palestine is the issue of our generation, and for the past two years I’ve thrown myself into the fight for Gaza. From the historic March for Humanity across the Harbour Bridge, to the Student strikes and National Student Referendum on Palestine and our student Town Hall calling on UNSW to cut ties with weapons companies, I’ve campaigned consistently for Palestine.

Left Action wants our university to be for education, not profit. UNSW should be using its $200 million surplus to help students through a housing and cost-of-living crisis, not investing in weapons corporations.

Gaza must continue to be a focus of activism on this campus. So, vote [1] Left Action- Free Palestine for an SRC that will fight on these issues.
Julia THANOPOULOS (Left Action)

Image for Julia THANOPOULOS (Left Action)
Hey! I’m Julia and I’m running with Left Action because we need an activist SRC to fight for social justice and student rights.

Inequality is widening and Israel is committing genocide in Gaza - we need radical change. To get it, we need more activists in the student union that are dedicated to fighting for the issues students care about. Left Action is a campaign of dedicated activists.

I’m proud to have been involved in the mass movement for Palestine both on and off campus. I helped promote the Harbour Bridge march for Palestine and helped to organise the National Student Referendum on Palestine. We need more people dedicated to building the pro-Palestine movement in our SRC so make sure to vote for Left Action for SRC and NUS.
Dashiel BAKER (Left Action)

Image for Dashiel BAKER (Left Action)
I’m Dash and this year I'm running with Left Action because the SRC should be a body that actually stands up for students and fights for change, not a body filled with bureaucrats padding their resumes.

Over the past year I helped organise and marched with 300,000 people across the harbour bridge for Palestine, joined the many nationwide rallies for Gaza, and spent many days talking to students on campus. Those experiences taught me something simple but real: we only win when we fight collectively. That's why we need your support.

Left Action has always been at the centre of that fight. We’ve stood for free education, for climate justice, and for Palestine, even when the uni and politicians would rather silence us. That’s the kind of SRC I want to build—one that doesn’t bow to management, but mobilises students to resist.

Vote [1] Left Action – Free Palestine
Anthony SHIN (Left Action)

Image for Anthony SHIN (Left Action)
Yo, I’m running with Left Action this year for the upcoming UNSW SRC elections. I believe UNSW needs a fighting student body that actively campaigns for student rights, social justice, and a free Palestine.

UNSW has been complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Student fees and research should not be funnelled into weapons development or the killing of Palestinians. Yet UNSW has invested millions in weapons companies through the Defence Trailblazer program.

While UNSW profits from these investments, students are struggling through a cost of living and housing crisis. Instead of prioritising weapons contracts, UNSW should reinvest profits into student services and make education free for both domestic and international students.

I believe the SRC must be an activist body. One that organises around issues on and off campus, challenges university management, and gives students a voice in shaping a more just and equitable future.
Winter PENNEY (365)

We need students who are willing to make a positive change towards shifting mindsets and habits amidst the climate crisis at UNSW. My name is Winter and I am running to be a councilor because we need more environmental action on campus, and I would absolutely love the opportunity to facilitate this.

As a first year environmental humanities student, I am someone who will be involved long term. I want to make a difference at this university before graduating and make similar changes across the world!

If elected, I’ll focus on;
1. Finding what methods could increase optimum energy use on campus.
2. Expanding Clothing Hub
3. Implementing reusable (Huskee) cups and containers at cafes on campus.
4. Bringing Clean up Australia Day to uni
5. Implementing food waste bins next to the other recycling and general waste bins.
6. Assisting with the free period products in bathrooms initiative.

Matilda HAYES BELL (365)

We need students who are willing to make a change at UNSW. My name is Matilda, and I am running to be a councillor because I believe we need more education and awareness regarding sexual assault and gendered violence on campus, as well as regarding other issues unique to female students. As a fourth-year Laws/Arts student, I have a unique experience that can help me better represent the student body. Despite my lack of engagement in student politics until later in my degree, my extensive experience at university has provided me with invaluable insights into what female students need from the university in order to feel safe and heard.

If elected, I’ll focus on advancing the interests of female students by:
1. Improving gendered violence and consent education.
2. Expanding the availability of period products on campus.
3. Creating and supporting initiatives that promote female interests and ideas.

Hi, I’m Daniel, a 2nd-year Computer Science and Physics student, running to be elected as your councillor with TOGETHER!

Hi! I’m Ally, a fourth-year medical student, and I’m running to be re-elected as your Councillor B on the SRC. Studying at the Port Macquarie campus, I saw firsthand the inequities that many regional students face. That’s why I’ve worked hard to change things. Since being elected to the SRC in 2024, I piloted the first Stress-Less Week at the Port Macquarie campus, and I will work to expand this to all four regional campuses to ensure that all UNSW students have the same support. I will also push for compulsory beach safety training for all regional students, more affordable on-campus parking, simple extensions for all courses, and free O-Week hoodies for regional students. I want to ensure regional voices are heard on our SRC so that we can bring all students TOGETHER.

Hi! I’m Shaan, a third-year Aerospace Engineering student running to be your next Councillor B on the SRC. Having served as Secretary of MechSoc and as student ambassador for the space engineering project, Bluesat, I’m passionate about student leadership and making sure every student gets the most out of their time at UNSW. If elected, I’ll fight to cap final exam weights at 40%, secure more affordable student parking, extend coffee hours on campus past 5pm, win concession opal cards for international and part-time students, and ensure all internships and placements are paid. As someone who balances work and study, I know that uni can be tough for us STEM students but I want to make it just that little bit easier for everyone. Let’s work TOGETHER to get what we deserve.

Hi again, you might know me as You Wei Parra or yukko (parra) online, and for those who didn’t read before, I’ll get you up to speed, again. Being a councillor requires listening, and whilst my time as welfare officer for Railway Society has not been too long, it has required me to listen to all sides. I’m honest about my commitment to making Western Sydney a better place as seen before, but even so, one mind will not be enough.

I’ve been going around listening to what you’ve had to say about UNSW and how to improve, and if elected, I promise to continue reaching out and listening to your concerns. I thank people opening up about their concerns, from internship policy to Roundhouse response times, and I hope you can have chat with me about your concerns and pet peeves.

I am a second-year student in Mathematics and Engineering in UNSW, striving to have educational resources of UNSW more inclusive and better quality.

If elected to SRC I would like to:
1. Centralise Lecture Recording Library
2. Better Western Sydney Campus Access
3. Refurbish CATS Room
4. Extend Main Library Hours and Implement Swipe Access

It is difficult to have UNSW adopt these policies, but I will work hard and am confident to have educational resources, like library and CATS Room, in UNSW more accessible.
Varsha RANE (EDGE)

Image for Varsha RANE (EDGE)
Hello, I'm Varsha Rane, a third year chemical engineering student.

Uni can be hard, and not just during exam periods. Students often start drowning under the course load by week 3. Between classes, tests and assignments, science and engineering students end up spending more and more time on campus, but struggle to make it as productive as possible.

Study spaces, especially on upper campus can be loud, uncomfortable, and in some buildings entirely non-existent. CATS rooms tend to be overcrowded and poorly maintained, and finding a microwave feels impossible.

I spend a lot of time on campus, so while I'm here, I want to help make the space as comfortable and supportive as possible. Students deserve quiet, safe spaces on campus to be able to study and rest in peace.

I would love the opportunity represent my peers and advocate for a more supportive campus for us all.
Khaleed MOHAMMED (EDGE)

Minor policy: Improved Campus Facilities & CATS Rooms

Why:
1. UNSW students complain about the lack of private, safe study/resting spaces.
2. CATS rooms are often overcrowded or poorly maintained.

Plan:
1. Upgrade CATS rooms with better seating, more microwaves, study nooks, and resting pods.
2. Advocate for extended building access during exam season.

Implementation & Maintenance:
1. Work with Estate Management to prioritize refurbishments.
2. SSAF-funded upkeep + feedback surveys each term.

I’m Zack and I’m proud to be running with Left Action - Free Palestine for the UNSW Student Representative Council (again) this year! It’s important to build a student council that will take up the fight around student rights, social justice, and for a free Palestine.

While the university makes hundreds of millions in profit ($200m+ last year!!), students are facing a worsening cost of living crisis across the board. All students should have access to safe and affordable housing, enough food, and higher education.

Over the last year (and beyond), I’ve been part of organising the student fightback against the University’s ties to Israel, stood in solidarity with students facing cuts across the country, and helped organise counter protests to the racist far right.

Students deserve better. That’s why I’m running with Left Action.

Eva BEAUMONT (Left Action)

Image for Eva BEAUMONT (Left Action)
Hi, I’m Eva and I’m running with Left Action because our university cares more about profits than education. Management rake in hundreds of millions in profit and pay themselves seven figure salaries while students suffer through a cost of living crisis and end their degrees thousands of dollars in debt. While we’ve watched a horrific genocide unfold in Gaza, UNSW has maintained countless investments and research partnerships with the weapons companies arming it.

This year, I’ve helped to build the fight for Palestine at UNSW, from student strikes to the National Student Referendum that got thousands of students to vote to condemn our government and university management for their complicity in genocide.

Left Action wants more activists in the SRC because we need an SRC that demands better and throws its weight behind every campaign students care about on and off campus.
Aaizah TAHIR (Left Action)

Image for Aaizah TAHIR (Left Action)
Hey, I’m Aaizah and I’m running with Left Action!

For UNSW 65,000 Palestinians dead is the cost of doing business. It invests up to $3M in weapons companies and I refuse to be made complicit in genocide. That money should be put into social good instead of war and destruction.

That's why it's absolutely necessary to build an activist SRC that stands on the right side of history and holds our university accountable. That's why I'm running as part of Left Action - Free Palestine.

I was part of the Palestine campaign in Pakistan where I helped organize protests and have carried that on here at UNSW. I was part of organizing and building the UNSW Student General Meeting for Palestine last year, as well as the National Student Referendum this year. If elected, I’ll make sure that our SRC continues to fight for all the issues students care about!
Ciaran SWORDS (Left Action)

Image for Ciaran SWORDS (Left Action)
I’m Ciaran and I’m running for the SRC because UNSW must end its complicity and genocide.

UNSW continues to use student money and research to tie us to a war machine arming Israel. Left Action wants to see the severing of these ties and to continue to fight for a free Palestine.

Alongside their bold face rejection of students out in their hundreds demanding action for Palestine, UNSW continues to gouge students, domestic and international, in the midst of a cost of living crisis. Education should be free, and this institution should actually be for “Progress for all”.

Left Action wants an activist student union that fights for student rights and social justice issues as we have over the past year. I’ve been involved in protests for climate, trans rights, against racism, and in solidarity with Palestine.
Lachlan MAGRATH (Left Action)

Image for Lachlan MAGRATH (Left Action)
My name's Lachlan and I'm running in the SRC for Left Action! I want our SRC to stand against corporate management degrading the conditions of students for the sake of making profit (an insane $203 million in 2024-25 financial year). I want our SRC to fight for free education, Palestine, the environment and social justice.

I have a proven track record in making a difference at UNSW. This year, I organised an Environment Collective protest on campus against the fossil fuel partnerships UNSW has with climate criminals Woodside and Santos. I have dedicated many hours to building Students for Palestine—getting hundreds of students to come to the National Student Strike and vote in the Student Referendum on Palestine.

Vote [1] Left Action if you want a left-wing activist SRC.
Mim MACDONELL (365)

We need students who are willing to bring hidden issues to the table at UNSW. My name is Mim and I am running to be a councilor to help bring more to campus. As an Engineering student, and a commuter, I have a unique experience that helps me represent students better.

If elected, I’ll focus on
(1) Improving study spaces and student help resources.
(2) Promoting the equity of remote and commuter students.
(3) Initiatives that support women in male dominated degrees form equitable school and industry networks.

Hi, I’m Tommy Nguyen and I’m a 1st year Mechanical Engineering student. I am applying to be a councillor because I am passionate about representing my peers and contributing to a positive university experience. I believe every student deserves to feel heard, supported, and included, and I will work to ensure that their voices are reflected in student council decisions. With strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to take initiative, I am confident in my ability to advocate for student needs while working effectively with others. Hi, I’m Arya! I’m a second year Engineering and Computer Science student and I love thrifting, food and sitcoms. Originally from Canberra, I’ve lived on campus and have experienced all things UNSW for the past two years. There are ways I’ve noticed we can improve student experience across campus and understand how difficult it is to find your place at uni. As one of your Councillors next year I aim to ensure that issues you care about are addressed at SRC meetings whether its supporting women-led societies or building more community across STEM cohorts–I want to make your journey at uni inclusive and enjoyable. While I may not always be the loudest in the room, I LOVE meeting new people, thrive as a team player and will always be here to hear you out and share your ideas. Jamie TYERS (Left Action)

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m running for the National Union of Students with Left Action!

As Education Officer, I will continue to fight for the NUS to campaign for the left-wing issues that students care about and to be a voice for students fighting for a more affordable student experience. Vote [1] Left Action - Free Palestine for NUS!

Avasa BAJRACHARYA (Left Action)

Image for Avasa BAJRACHARYA (Left Action)
I’m Avasa, and I’m proud to be running for the National Union of Students.

I believe we need a student union that fights at every moment for student rights and social issues.

With the Gaza genocide, we now see the result of two years of complicity from all institutions and governments, including UNSW. Our university still continues its ties to weapons companies like Lockheed Martin, who produce the F-35 fighter jet. Left Action believes that universities should be places for learning and social good, not war profiting.

Not only that, we think that we should have free and fully funded education for every UNSW student. We want our universities to prioritise quality education and affordable living for students especially in a cost-of-living crisis.

Left Action is a ticket committed to fighting for these progressive issues. I’ve been involved in organising the Student General Meeting and the National Referendum for Palestine.
Emma TERRY (Left Action)

Hey, I'm Emma and I'm running with Left Action - Free Palestine for NUS.

Left Action is the only ticket with dedicated activists who are willing to relentlessly fight for a world without inequality and oppression. Join our fight and Vote [1] Left Action this SRC election!

I’ve been an activist at UNSW for the past three years and have been involved in many campaigns from fighting for a Free Palestine, against our government’s inaction on climate change, to fighting against the far right and standing up against racism.

Universities care more about profits and military research than our actual education. Left Action demands our university cut ties with weapons companies and stand for a Free Palestine. We are a group of dedicated activists who have been fighting on this issue for the past two years. Annie YU (GOON for SRC)

Hi! I’m Annie Yu and I’m running for SRC as part of Grassroots Organising & Outreach Network (GOON). Many students are feeling like they can’t perform and that’s why we need to elect GOONers onto the SRC. We know how to finish the job and it’s about time the SRC explodes with some good substance and ideas. Vote [1] GOON for SRC!
Cow CHOU (GOON for SRC)

G’day! I’m Cow and I’m running for SRC as part of Grassroots Organising & Outreach Network (GOON). As an elected GOONer, I will push the SRC beyond the edge and make sure we all reach our climax as students. We all have it inside of us – we just need to let it out. Vote [1] GOON for NUS!

I’m Sid, running for NUS with Kensington Fried Chicken. I’ll make sure UNSW’s voice is extra crispy, loud and impossible to ignore on the national stage. As a Law/Commerce student, paralegal and long-time volunteer, I’ve shown I know how to represent people, get organised and deliver results that matter.

At NUS, I’ll fight for cheaper, tastier, faster student life. UNSW’s concerns won’t go stale, they’ll be served hot, and the rest is just gravy.

Vote 1 Sid for NUS!

Extra crispy, no compromises.

Vote 1 Dennis for Ethno-Cultural Officer, because our campus deserves representation with flavour.

I am nominating myself as an NUS Delegate because I want to ensure UNSW students have a strong and diverse voice at the national level. As a first-year Science student, international student, and member of an ethnocultural background, I know how important it is for student concerns—ranging from education affordability to equity and inclusivity—to be heard beyond our campus. The National Union of Students is a platform where meaningful change can be influenced, and I will work to represent UNSW students with honesty, passion, and commitment. My priorities will be advocating for fair education policies, better support for international and diverse students, and greater recognition of student wellbeing in national debates. I believe representation matters, and I want to bring UNSW’s unique perspectives to the broader student movement, ensuring that our voices contribute to a stronger and fairer future for all students across Australia.
