Hi, my name is Sarah Gowers (Pearce) and I'm a second-year Law/Arts student. I'm extraordinarily keen about community, the student experience and university life.
I am also the 2022 Elite Academic Scholar for the BAL Faculty, and was featured on the 2022 Dean's Merit List for Law. For the past year, I have been the Legal & Compliance Officer for the UOW Law Student's Society, which means I have worked on every single initiative the Society has brought to law students this year, ensuring UniClubs and internal policies are adhered to, and that our Club Constitution is upheld.
This means I have formed valuable relationships with the staff in our faculty, and with the wider legal community. I am also the Cook Coordinator at Lighthouse Community Kitchen, where I not only cook nutritious and delicious meals for the most vulnerable in our community, but coordinate a team of chefs, manage our pantry inventory, and do stock ordering. I am coming up on having cooked 3,000 meals for our community, which is immensely exciting.
I am also a YWCA Youth Frontiers Mentor, working with young women who have had contact with the justice system to work towards better life outcomes.
HARDIE, Noah

I’m Noah Hardie, and this year I’ll be running as a student representative for Business and Law. In my first year at UOW, I’ve spoken with many students about the issues they’ve experienced at university. From tutorial attendance to technical failure, parking to poor Wi-Fi, I’m passionate about getting students the best deal with the problems they face. As undergrad representative for Business and Law, I’ll ensure students have a fair say over the issues that affect them.
If elected, the first policies I’ll bring to the table are: - Reducing minimum tutorial attendance requirements for Business and Law subjects from 80% down to 50%, and developing alternative penalties to technical failure - A review into campus parking and payment rates - Extending high-speed internet access across campus to prevent connection failures during exams - Integrating more AI modules into Business and Law subjects
The student advisory council is all about you - your ideas, your input, and your issues. As student representative for Business and Law, I’ll give voice to your concerns and work hard to help every student get the most out of their university experience.
Your vote counts - I’d be honoured to have your support!

GLASGOW, Callum

My name is Callum, I'm 21 and currently completing a Bachelor of Arts with two majors, History and International Relations. I have lived in Wollongong my entire life and have been involved in numerous local organisations both in sport and creative arts.
I might be a local but I want to strengthen and expand the services available to students who have moved here, either from the regions or different countries. For most students the price of their university degree has increase but the importance of their degree hasn't in this challenging and innovative world, therefore students deserve more support, resources, opportunities and guidance to ensure we are getting a degree which is worth the funds we are paying and is worth the value of our knowledge and hard work. Finally, a source of pride for me is the friendly and corroborative environment that exists on campus.
I would see that nourished and maintained by giving more support to our student led clubs across all facilities and interests. The University of Wollongong is an institution of integrity and fairness, It is important that it is always held to that high standard.

My name is Katherine Minns, and I am 25 years old. I'm currently pursuing my Psychology Honours part-time at the University of Wollongong.
My academic journey at UOW has been rich with leadership experiences: I've served as a faculty representative in school meetings during my second year, held significant roles on both the academic senate and student advisory council, and am currently an active member of the student life steering committee.
My dedication to the student body was further demonstrated during my two-year presidency of the UOW Psych Society. I believe in fostering a collaborative, inclusive campus environment. Throughout my roles, I've advocated for transparent decision-making and always put student voices at the forefront of discussions that impact our community. If elected, I'm committed to enhancing student-faculty communication, promoting mental well-being, and ensuring academic excellence for all. With your support, I aim to create a space where every student feels valued, heard, and represented, and to continue making UOW a beacon of student empowerment and success.
