Robert Miller Stallings - Titan Aviation Fuels

My name is Miller Stallings, and I am from New Bern, NC. I work for Titan Aviation Fuels. Titan is one of the nation's largest suppliers of aviation fuel in the United States, and operates a large corporate flight department. Our customers include: FBOs, airlines, corporate flight departments, air medical, and aerial applicators.

My aviation experience and knowledge is multi-faceted. Starting when I was 16 years old, I began working line service fueling aircraft at our local FBO. As time progressed, I transitioned into selling aviation insurance and fuel, which has led me to where I am today as representative for our customers across the country. Since the day I started in this industry, aviation has become my passion.

This passion led me to pursue both my fixed wing and rotor wing licenses. Since becoming a licensed helicopter pilot I have experience in a variety of machines. These include: the R22, the R44, the R66, the Bell 206 and 407, and MD-500 helicopters.

I am enthusiastic about having the opportunity to serve as a potential board member for HAI. Being elected to the Board is important to me because it would be a way for me to give back and show support for an industry that has given me so much. I am dedicated to promoting the mission of HAI in order to ensure the safety and positive growth of the helicopter industry.

Poll: Please select ONE (1) candidate for the open Helicopter Operator – Commercial position:
Francois Lassale - Heli SGI

Hello, I’m Francois, the CEO of HeliSGI and AirBali, based on the small island of Bali within the huge archipelago of Indonesia. We operate a fleet of Bell 412 and 212 BH 407s, BK117s and B206s in support of the mining industry, search and rescue and tour operations, for the last 10+ years. We hold Flight Safety Foundations, BARS Gold Status and our Commercial Manager, Krisna Dewi received HAI’s Salute Safety Excellence Award in 2020, the first Indonesian to do so. I have lead operations in Europe, Africa, South America, the USA, Middle East and now South East Asia. South East Asia has been poorly served on the international stage and the opportunity for me to join the Board of HAI would help to increase the level of awareness, not only to this region, but the issues of all International operators. This will allow HAI to effectively support its international members. I have a strong collaborative background from my work in HeliOffshore in brining global stakeholders together to achieve a common goal. I also have strong relationships with all the industry stakeholders to enhance collaboration for the good of the rotorcraft community. As a Board member I will be in a strong position to represent the international community. If you want to ensure the International Community is well represented on the Board of HAI, I would appreciate your vote. I hope to see you in Dallas at HeliExpo. Thank you, take care and fly safe.

James Jensen - Air Center Helicopters

I am grateful for an eclectic career in aviation over the past 27 years. This has allowed me to leverage experience in both rotary and fixed wing aircraft across multiple aviation services. I have been fortunate to experience the challenges and rewards associated with VIP part 91, FAR 133, 135 and 137 flight operations, as well as the various regulatory and operational challenges associated with each. Having served on a committee in the past, I see the value of both individual and corporate engagement with HAI, as it benefits its members and our industry as a whole.

I currently serve on a 501(c)3 chartable board that focuses on support for veteran, first responder and the homeless in the north Texas area. In being a strong proponent of volunteer work, yet also seeking to remain vital to our cause, our organization recognizes the value that fresh perspectives provide in an ever-changing environment.

A diverse HAI board brings unique, yet unified, voices to our industry. Recent 5G challenges are a great example of our need for quick, directed thinking on behalf of HAI, its operators, manufacturers, and members. Should I be elected, I am committed to bringing a strong voice and broad skillset in support of the many challenges our industry faces today and in the future.

Jared Friend - Hillsboro Aero Academy

I am the Chief Instructor, 133 Chief Pilot, and General Manager of the helicopter flight school at Hillsboro Aero Academy. Hillsboro Aero Academy started in 1980 as Hillsboro Helicopters with one R22 and has since grown to a combine fleet of nearly a hundred airplanes and helicopters. I am so blessed to be a part of a company that has helicopters in its blood. My role and career at HAA has been a dream come true and I have been fortunate to be part of the expansion for over 10 years.

Throughout my helicopter career, my drive has been to make the industry better by keeping safety and accountability a top priority, while sharing the wisdom of past mistakes and lessons learned. I want to see the next generation of helicopter pilots take this industry to the next level by imparting as much knowledge and experience as possible through excellent education and increased opportunity.

Joining the HAI board is the next step in this dream. There is no better organization to be a part of than HAI when my dream is to make a difference.

In my career, I’ve seen many helicopter hopefuls come in and build their foundation and core values as aviators. My hope is that I can take my dream and bring it to the role on the HAI board to help make the industry better. My goal is that we all can work together to make our industry better one step at a time.

Neal Lanning - Advanced Helicopter Concepts

My name is Neal Lanning, I am the President and Stockholder of Advanced Helicopter Concepts, Inc. Frederick, Maryland and have been since 1997.

Advanced Helicopter was Incorporated in 1987 starting with the operation of two Robinson R22’s and Robinson Sales and Service Center. We were an integral part of the Robinson Story, with both of us helping to develop the Private Rotorcraft ownership and pilots. Up until then helicopters were solely available to military, EMS and law enforcement, Robinson, and small helicopter operators, like Advanced changed that.

Now, 35 years later, through mergers and buy-outs we have three major entitys: Advanced Helicopter, Frederick Flight Center and Middle River Flight Center, with over 30 aircraft
and 60 employees between all.

If elected to the Board of HAI I feel I bring management experience and expertise to the flight training, management, and maintenance discussion.

I am not flashy, do not do much social media. I am old school management and training, please look at my resume and make your decision based on what you think I can bring to the HAI Board room.

Thank you,

Neal D. Lanning
