Caroline Goslin

I'm a Mother, a Physician Assistant, and a huge advocate for early childhood education. Over the last 2 years, there has been a lot of uncertainty and difficulty surrounding how to deal with the pandemic and how it has effected children and education. I am aware that in the public school system, there has been a divide created between parents and the counties/schools due to disagreements about how situations have been handled. I am hoping to bridge this gap and help created a unified environment again.

Holly Brookins

I would be a great addition to PCA because being a community servant and bringing people together comes natural.

Mary-Kate Starkel

I am a proud K-12 public school grad. Growing up in diverse neighborhoods nearby and seeing inequities experienced by other students inspired me to become a social worker, then director of youth development programs so I could become part of the remedy for systems that have historically marginalized Black, brown, and ESOL students. I also have experience serving on a school governance council. My schedule is also flexible as I am an entrepreneur who is able to make time for PACS.

Judy Kirk

I am a public servant by way of clergy and by way of academia. I have volunteered my services to Dekalb County for a quarter century by way of advocacy for the homeless, the voting restriction law, and marched against social injustice in this community. I recognize that the success of our students is predicated by partnering with parents, the community and the school system. I would like to support Dr. Kemp in this endeavor and need for critical lasting change.

Kalissa Powell

Hello All, I am new to the state of GA, coming by way of St Louis MO. Unfortunately I have no previous volunteering experience but am ready to learn and and offer my services whole heartedly. Firstly when the opportunity was offered I was overwhelmed because usually these groups are already established and they make plans and agree on processes that you and your child must adhere too but the opinion is formed without the parents concerns being heard at all. Most times these people are white people who do not even live in the community. Grateful for the opportunity.

I’m a very proud grandmother of 4 Dekalb County students. It is my belief in order for our children to be successful we must be active, and present with them while in school. I have had times where I didn’t like what was going on in the school, and I had conversations with Dr. Smikle, and the grade level teachers but sometimes I ask what about the students who have no one to speak for them. I feel parents should be involved in the process of Principal advisory because the parents and students are the end result of what goes on at a school. If there is great communication coming from the top through the parents and students, the children will perform better. Parents need to access and communicate both positive and negatives of any behavior of their student so we all can continue to adjust and grow as a school and community.

Tiffany Hill-Stone

I feel that with passion and dedication for not only my own student scholars but to the students of Tucker High, I will be an active liaison for the parents, school staff, students, and community members to create better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's perspectives and ideas to enhance the students achievements and performance. In support of school perspective on issues, correspond between the school and the community, Encourage the engagement of parents and participants within the school community, and Work to increase student achievement and performance through transparent operations and shared best practices.

I am a teacher and have taught for 20 years. I have served on the Livsey ES and Tucker MS PTO. I wish to serve because I think it is important to give my time and support to our community schools.

Janekkia Sherman

As a mother of four children, I am capable of taking on many tasks at once, while being organized. I homeschooled my two older children and I am currently schooling Haley virtually with Livsey. Therefore, providing feedback to parents about best practices to aid with their child's development and academic achievement comes easy to me. I have volunteered with the Girl Scouts program, Third Grade Pageant, and my older children participated in sports. I wish to serve in order to provide mentorship, educational enrichment, and exposure to the benefits and importance of a positive self-image and responsible conduct.

Tivoli Harris Roberson

My name is Tivoli Roberson and I am a proud mother to a sixth grader here at TMS. I am running for a parent seat on the TMS PAC to continue my service to our Tucker Cluster of schools. Terry Crawford

My family relocated during COVID to Atlanta after living in Beijing for twelve years. Now, my wife and I will be proud DHHS parents for the next seven years. Since my wife and I run a tech company that supports college admissions, our access to admissions trends might be of service to DHHS parents and faculty. Perhaps the perspective we gained from the Chinese educational system--both good and bad--could be helpful as well. I never expected my kids to attend my alma mater, but each day we become more excited at what DHHS can offer all of its students.

Community driven engagement with mental health and social resources is the only way in which we will lift all students of DeKalb to their full potential. Potential is a continuum. If we can help our community be ok with who they are, and give them confidence in being ok with themselves, they win.
