Candidacy Statement:

Hello fellow colleagues! My name is Ben Phalavong, I live and work within Windsor and I have been a kinesiologist for approximately four years (three within District 6). What gravitated me to pursue this council seat is having the opportunity to represent our geographical location to bring forth issues/concerns we may face as a profession. Throughout the years, I have experience with working on a couple of the college's committee's: the Item Writing and Item Review Committees. I thoroughly enjoyed being apart of that and have always envisioned of continuing to serve within the college.

If I am fortunate to hold a seat within the council, my vision is to act in the profession's best interest, to advocate and advance our profession within the lens of the public, other regulated health care professionals, and other stakeholders.

Thank you for your time,

Ben

Candidacy Statement:

The reason I want to run for council is that I believe that I can make a positive contribution to the important work of the College Council and sub-committees. I value honesty and integrity, and believe in the importance fairness and stakeholder engagement in decision-making and policy review. I believe my experiences across high-level sport, and orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation in clinic and community care settings have permitted me to understand a greater breadth of the demands of our profession and public safety. I believe that the knowledge and partnerships I have developed, working as a Registered Kinesiologist with other registered health care practitioners from a variety of disciplines would permit me to share valuable insight in contribution to the work of the Registration, Quality Assurance, and Examination Committees. Please consider voting for me to protect the public and to ensure excellent professional practice of kinesiologists in Ontario.
