Since the day I have been here, I have felt accepted, included and appreciated from every aspect of university student. I am no leader, but a student who thrives to stand for a cause to make our university more vibrant for every single student in the university. Job is something which every student requires to gain professional experience. My idea is to talk and promote more casual and part-time jobs for international student within the university through career hub of UniSA at most it will give every student a great learning curve within the university while they study.

Nistha Patel

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy Statement:
Being an International Student at University of South Australia, I constantly seek for the opportunity to work in a diverse environment to enhance my communication and collaborative skills. This position will offer me the chance to develop my interpersonal skills along with other skills such as teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving.
Working voluntarily for a non-profitable organisation for over 12 years guided me how to connect with people from various backgrounds and cultures. I have been in Adelaide for almost 15 years now and during my initial years here away from home even I faced issues and needed that much necessary support. Being in that situation myself I can understand and help the upcoming and aspiring students. I hope to guide students through every aspect of university life; be it related to studies or not. Students should feel safe and know to whom they can convey their problems to. University life is the most memorable part of life that can never fade away from one’s life and so is my goal to bring the most out of it. If being fortunate, I get this opportunity, I would like to use it for the upliftment and betterment of UniSA students.

Elsie Choge

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy Statement:
Hi! I’m Elsie Choge and I want to be your International Student Representative.

International students face unique challenges, all made much worse by coronavirus. Higher levels of poverty, social isolation; and without the safety net that domestic students get.

I know what it’s like. I’ve been here for two years now, and I know what it’s like to struggle for rent, and to feel like you don’t have anyone to talk to.

As your representative, I would like to advocate for a social network for international students. Not like facebook, a real network. With restrictions easing, we can take advantage of that and run great social events to connect international students, and help make new friends.

And of course, I’ll advocate to the university, and anyone who will listen, about better financial support for students doing it tough.

This is why I am running with ACTIVATE. We are a team of passionate and dedicated students running for election to improve UniSA for all students, at all campuses.

Policy Statement:
Hello!!!

My name is Amelianna Alfred Domnic and I am currently in my second year studying the Bachelor of Psychological Science. I am currently running for the International Student Representative position. My home country is Malaysia and I genuinely understand how difficult it can be to adapt to a new environment. My biggest achievement to date was to being the Advanced Student Leader in a previous institute within UNISA called Saibt. I am well suited for this position as I am hardworking, decisive, courageous and passionate.

I would love the honour of being elected as I will advocate towards the following:

1. Working to the best of my ability with the University to get more scholarships for
international students.

2. Working hand in hand alongside cultural clubs and attending to their needs with the
resources given by USASA.

3. Creating a friendly and welcoming environment to make all students feel at home by
carrying out small events across all campuses.

Hi, my name is Dhruv Patel, and I am an international student here at UniSA-Mawson lakes.
I feel incredibly honored by the nominee of the International Student Representative.
Before coming to Australia, I thought it would be challenging to for me to settle in. Soon I realized how friendly the university environment was, and all of my fears disappeared.
Coming from a culturally diverse environment, I can connect with people, which empowers me to think extraordinarily. During my first year of study, I have made friendships with students studying in various fields, which has enabled me to understand the need for a student's voice. I would love the opportunity to understand what my peers need and help make the University a better place than before.

Truong Thinh Luong

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy Statement:
I am an international student from Vietnam. Studying in Australia for 4 years, I have gone through many problems that an international student could face: studying, applying job, self-financing, relationship, studying/ social life balance, and time-management. I used to find it struggling to do everything alone in a new country, but I finally nailed it. After graduating high school with ATAR 97.9, I have started tutoring high school students and I have 2 years experience now. Besides helping them to achieve their target scores, I motivate and support them to be strong to overcome hardships. However, I would like to overcome my comfort zone again to become a student representative for UniSA international students. If elected, I would support international students' rights and speak your voices. Additionally, I would work with clubs to provide multicultural activities for International students so they can involve, share their stories, and enjoy uni-life.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy Statement:
Hi,
My name is Parvesh Nanda and I am currently in my second year studying Bachelor of Business(Economics,Trade and finance). I believe i am a suitable candidate for the post of international student representative because I myself have been through all the hardships that a international student faces when he comes to a country which has a completely different culture. Each and every international student has to pass through a number of hardship passages which makes them vulnerable to several issues. Being somewhere who has gone through all those passages and emerged as a successful student, I strongly believe in using my experience to help the ones who are going through it now. I have the experience, ability and reliableness which can make other students comfortable to have a chat and share what they are going through. It is very important to relate to their problems, for which i have adequate experience, so that one can actually understand and find a suitable solution.
I strongly thrive for equality on campus irrespective of one’s background, country, religion and gender. Every student deserves to have voice and I want to become that voice!

Policy Statement:
Hi, I’m Eunice Emina, and I’m running to be your Mawson Lakes Undergraduate Student Representative for 2021.

I’ve been active in campus culture for my whole time at UniSA and worked with a lot of students in UniSA sports. I know the pressing needs of students at UniSA and would like to help them as much as I can. Now I want to take the next step, and use the skills I have gained to improve the experience of all students at UniSA.

Activate representatives have this year fought to bring back the Campus Connector, and I want to continue that fight if elected for next year.

I also want to work with other student representatives to activate Mawson Lakes (pun, kind of intended) with great events to make new friends, and bring life back to campus after COVID.

I am currently running for the Magill Undergraduate Student Representative position. My biggest achievement to date was to being the Advanced Student Leader in a previous institute within UNISA called Saibt. I am well suited for this position as I am hardworking, decisive, courageous and passionate.

I would love the honour of being elected as I will advocate towards the following:

1. Making undergraduate studies a little easier by carrying small events on campus from
time to time because I understand that being new to the uni life can be stressful.

2. Finding new ways towards promoting and creating more academic support with the
help of the USASA board, as many may feel lost and out of place in a new
environment.

3. To foster an inclusive engaging space for all students to socialise and to feel at home.

4. To have more affordable services on campus including food.

Vote for me and I will use the power of my position towards listening to each and every one of your voices to make a change. YOU MATTER TO UNISA!!!

I have always pushed my limits and tried to achieve more at every stage in my career and will continue to do so. I was the Activities Captain of my high school and thus arranged all the events from cultural to sports.Currently, I am the holder of UniSA Vice Chancellor Scholarship due to my academic excellence in year 12 and its maintenance in the university.
Another idea that I have is to organise information desks to let all the students know about the activities on campus and around the city so that they can get involved and cherish their university life. I will put all my suggestions in front of the board and try my best to get an approval. Thanks:)

I don’t want to make any promises that I can’t keep, but I know that uni can be a bit of a fiasco so I CAN promise to always have Freddo frogs available to help you leap back into gear (see that frog pun?). Other groups I am members of include National Rural Health Student Network, Toastmasters, Wattle Range Suicide Prevention Network, along with several health associations.

I would like to improve student engagement and continue to develop our campus, so we feel we are in a supported, safe and having comfortable spaces for all students. Policy Statement:
Hi my name is Parvesh Nanda, studying in second year of bachelors in business economics finance and international trade. I would love to have the honour of being elected as a delegate of the national student union. Being a international student, knowing their struggles and owning them I believe NUS needs a delegate who represents international students.
It’s my second year in Australia and I’ve learned a lot in these two years and being someone who believes to have a voice of activists I want to stand for student rights. Coming from a country where equality was only for the elite I want to make sure no one gets judged on their race breed gender or colour in their student life because this is the time they groom themselves, I don’t want the most for them.
Every student in this country Deserves to fly!

Eunice Emina

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Policy Statement:
Hi, I’m Eunice Emina, and I’m running to be one of your NUS delegates at NUS National Conference 2020.

As a result of COVID, a lot of students are facing financial hardship and are in other difficult situations. We need a strong union, who will fight for our rights, and get the best results for students.

University is about more than just getting a degree. It’s about finding yourself and developing new friendships and connections, and finding your passions. Government attacks on students, both domestic and international, have hurt students’ welfare, but fundamentally undermine this idea of what a university should be. As your delegate, I will use my vote to make sure that NUS opposes these Government attacks, and stops them from turning universities into degree factories.

This is why I am running with ACTIVATE. We are a team of passionate and dedicated students running for election to improve UniSA for all students, at all campuses.

Vote [1] Eunice Emina for NUS Delegate
Vote [1] ACTIVATE for USASA
Vote [1] ACTIVATE for NUS

Hi all!
I am running as a candidate for the NUS (National Union of Students) delegate. I am a passionate student determined to become the voice of all the UniSA students and become a part of a team that is involved not only in the current student’s lives, but also the bigger picture of providing a better place for future students. After my experience of leading a team of great personalities in my Bachelors, I am confident in joining the National Students' Union to support the students. If elected I would make it my goal to liaise with more students involved in what goes on at our University. I would appreciate your vote for me to serve as the NUS delegate.
