“Words are sacred. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones, in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.”

-Tom Stoppard

I am a dreamer who desires to conquer the world with my magical weapon that is a pen. I am a goal-oriented person who has published a short story book at the age of sixteen. Since then, I have worked for different magazines and newspapers as a journalist and an editor. In my previous college, I was a Secretary of Political Science department as I was one of the brightest students in the class. At the moment, I am an active poetry blogger.

I am a lover of words and at the same time a critical reader. I have good computer knowledge, photography and communication skills. Hence, I am confident about being a valuable asset to the student newspaper.

“Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently”
-Shiv Khera
I’m pursuing my First Semester as a Master Student in Environmental Engineering. Just two months into Sydney and I’m ready to take the challenge of running for the post of a Student Editor. I was born and did my Bachelors in Madras but spent most of my young and middle years in the Middle East. While doing my Bachelors, I headed the English Literary Club at my University for two consecutive years and also initiated a project for the underprivileged. Whether elected or not, I want voices to be heard from every corner of the Campus as concerns of the fellow students could be addressed to a student representative rather than a staff.

I’m a second year student, studying Bachelors of Communications with a major of Media Arts Production and sub-majoring in Journalism and I’m nominating myself to be part of the editorial team of the student publication – W’Sup.

I’d like to be part of the student editorial team as I’d like to contribute more to the publication. I once got an events piece published on the W’sup website back on October 2016 and was a volunteer photographer back in the first semester of 2017. I was chosen this year to be part of the Journalism Work and Study Tour back on June 2017 with Asha Chand and Margot Dunphy to write stories about the aftermath of Cyclone Winston in Fiji.

I hope you consider me to be part of the editorial team as I believe that I can contribute more with the experiences that I already have.

As a member of Western Sydney University, I would like to nominate myself for student editor position with W’SUP. My name is Nancy Upadhya, and I am currently studying masters of professional accounting at UWS. I am recent graduate in business management and journalism. Working as an editor for W’SUP, is a platform for me to address various issues that students, staff members face. My aim is to create a deeper connection of W’SUP with students and staff members, so that everyone looks forward to our upcoming issues. Moreover, I strongly believe that through my work experience with channel seven, and courier mail, I will be a perfect fit for this role and give my 100 per cent in W’SUP.
WRIGHT, Michael

Hi, my name is Michael, and I’m running for 2018 W’SUP Editor.

As one of the 2017 elected Editors, I was instrumental in helping reposition W’SUP into a paper that students actually want to read. Our new A4 format, increased satirical and comedy content, the publication of the Queer edition, online coverage of breaking news, and a number of other significant choices for the paper.

I was also the author of the controversy inducing article, “Hawkesbury Hell”, which uncovered ongoing harassment and abuse of trans students at Hawkesbury campus. This coverage of on-campus events gained nationwide attention, and saw me nominated for Journalist of the Year Award in the Australian LGBTI Awards 2018.

I’ve been involved in Student Representation and Participation since my first year at Western Sydney, and as a final year journalism student know how to write hard hitting news that matters to students like you.
YANAMADALA, Krishana

Hi guys, I am an ongoing student, pursing MBA (6th quarter) in Parramatta city campus. Pop into 7th floor of Parramatta city campus and ask for Krishna every 3rd person would know me.
The reason why you should vote me is simple; I get the job done, instead of making any promises. Being in Sydney for nearly 18months I can share you my experiences and knowledge and can create a fun paced environment between the new and ongoing international students. I have always taken interest in local affairs and can involve students actively in the local communities.
I believe, I have the experience and skills which would benefit all the international students and would consider it with a great privilege to serve as an International Rep. If elected, I would perform mu role with energy, enthusiasm and integrity.
