APRA SONG OF THE YEAR

Judged by TWO (2) rounds of voting. Industry judges decide the Finalists in Round 1, and then CMAA Professional Members select the winner by voting in Round Two.

Criteria
Lyric and music quality; composition originality; country character of composition.

Specific Rules
- ONE (1) track per songwriter or songwriting team.
- Judged on the  nominated track.
- Must be an original Australian composition by Australians first released on a recording during the current Awards year (an original composition can combine existing lyrics [e.g. previously published poems or ballads] with new music or vice versa, creating a substantially new song).
- Trophy to songwriter/s.
